The Mentalist
Where can we pick up more stems? What part number is it at ofrei? It's not the stem that's the problem, it's the tube.

He had a bit of a communication blip, but I think he is back on track now. I would recommend him.

chiefwiggum
Here's a link to his thread http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showforum=207 Sorry, I don't think that it is appropriate to discuss prices in an open forum. E-mail or PM to explain the problem you have and he will provide you with an estimate. I will say that I was very satisfied with the work and the price. THANOS
I'm THANOS from cyprus and have in my possesion an UPO SWISS movement came from trusty. as the most of the UPO's have the same issue with crown which refuse to screw down. it has been already fixed, not at all ,twice.first time was sent back to far east and the second here in a local watchsmith.both of times none of genuine parts were used,so the crown didn't worked properly for more than a week.....(( Is there anyone that has already bought from ofrei or another source genuine parts(crown, tube)that fit to SWISS UPO? posting a link for these parts, better from a european union source would be much appreciated... PLANT270
This thread was started about a yr ago....do the current UPO still have this crown issue? Ugh...I was going to pull the trigger on one today, but if the crown is only gonna last 2 months..............

Pugwash
My crown has lasted almost two years. It's not got much life left in it though - it feels as if it's going to strip in the next few months.
THANOS
so what are you gonna do pugwash as your opinion has a lot of importance!!!
andreww
If you constantly are screwing these down they will strip. I've gone through two rep and am almost through two gen crown and tubes. The gen lasts longer, but inside threads are just a terrible design IMO. Luckily its not too big a deal to replace them. andreww
I'm sure it is mentioned numerous times in this very thread, but yes you can use gen parts from Ofrei, but the tube will need to be epoxied in place as the tube is slightly narrower than the case hole. jkirke
now that I know you can just shorten the crown stem, i shouldhave done that instead of buy another one. damn!! oh well. my first one was the lite version, and i figured it was time to upgrade to the UPO. plus, i really really want to get some gen parts into it.
