woody Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 wow, that dial has some resemblance between a planet ocean and the current generation of seamaster....I guess the design can always get "recycled", am I right? Thanks Rob for the usual great work and for taking the time to take these pictures.
HauteHippie Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Mmmm vintage. Very nice and I'm sure rewarding work there.
tmg Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Thanks The Zigmeister, always great to see your takedown/repair posts. It reminds me of my first gen Rolex purchase nearly 20 years ago; a 1940's manual "Army" model, that watch is so tiny my wife wears it now.
Dizzy Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 thanks for posting this Rob. I love to see these types of watches becasue its not something we normally see here! I've always liked the bubblebacks even though it isnt a model i would ever purchase.
chrgod Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 A nice piece, beautiful finish on the movement... Interesting to see how the rotor assembly seems to fit like a "hat" over the rest of the movement! This is a chronometer grade watch, so I guess it is quite collectable.. I have a 6694, Oysterdate. These small, vintage "cheap" Rolex'es are quite good buys if you dont mind the small size. Thanks for posting!
