"Friday, October 12, 2007 (New Delhi)

Former US vice president and climate change campaigner Al Gore has been awarded this year's Nobel peace prize.

Al Gore was presented with the honour along with the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

In what comes as good news for India, the intergovernmental panel, which brings together the world's top climate scientists, is headed by India's RK Pachauri."

No comment. For once in my life.

What next? Bono? FFS.

Cornerstone, Bono is an absolutebloody shoe-in one day. I'd stake my first-born newt on it. President Chavez too, if he plays his cards right.

My money for next year's prize is on Mr Kipling.

My theory is that his fondant fancies have done more to defuse tense diplomatic negotiations and military stand-offs, and generally save the world from the brink of catastrophe than all of Betty Crocker's cakes combined. A controversial standpoint, obviously, but I'm not afraid to call it as I see it.... :animal_rooster:
