There IS a current production Rolex watch that has a factory spec that includes an AR coating applied to the crystal. Anyone know what it is? Yes, the ceramic-bezelled 116710 GMTII does indeed have a single-layer of AR coating applied to the underside of the cyclops Also had it confirmed by a good friend (and AD) of mine last night... A sign of things to come maybe with the new Sub and SD (using the new case on the GMT) likely to be announced at Basel 2008? Fingers crossed.... My guess is the cyclop was invented to make the date easier to read...but it is bloody hard to read from certain angles in fact. Having said that, I am very happy there is no AR on the "vintage" or say recent Rolex. Maybe one of us should have a Noob AR coated...could be funny to see.
