on the cylcop of the GMT II is AR I think?

Yes, the ceramic-bezelled 116710 GMTII does indeed have a single-layer of AR coating applied to the underside of the cyclops ;)

Also had it confirmed by a good friend (and AD) of mine last night...

A sign of things to come maybe with the new Sub and SD (using the new case on the GMT) likely to be announced at Basel 2008?

Well, that is a good move.

My guess is the cyclop was invented to make the date easier to read...but it is bloody hard to read from certain angles in fact.

Having said that, I am very happy there is no AR on the "vintage" or say recent Rolex.

Maybe one of us should have a Noob AR coated...could be funny to see.

well finally!! now that rolex has discovered AR maybe they will use it on all their watches.. even if they did a single side side AR.. i think i am gunna pop the crystal outta my franken 16610 MBW and get it done.
