frankt Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Nice watch...but beware of "franken's" this is the most often "diddled with" Omega of all time!!...
docblackrock Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Nice watch...but beware of "franken's" this is the most often "diddled with" Omega of all time!!... Don't worry, this is gorgeously "undiddled" with - a superb example. Hmmmm
docblackrock Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 That movement looks like rose gold! Hmmmmmmmm. Probably just been in an ultrasonic cleaner. The c.550 wasn't that common in the no-date 300s (usually the c.552) but I've seen a few over here with it in. I think it's legit, Nanuq.
POTR Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Oh my. If I hadn't just bought an unanticipated SUV this week...
Everythingape Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 How much is this thing worth? Will it win me the respect of my peers? I'm somehow more attracted to vintage watches, and I might take a shot at this. Seriously though, how much would be within reasonable limits for this? ...and please.. no jokes about gold sequin dresses.
r11co Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Why did you have to drag this up?! I thought I'd got my want for one of these out my system........
Desuetude Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Ah Nanuq, you saved me with that bit about the hands not matching the dial. I was about to plunge even deeper into the vintage abyss, which I recently took another huge plunge into.
Desuetude Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 LOL...plus, I can't pull any fast ones like I did last time. That said, the KonTiki had personal significance for me, having a great uncle who was a tank commander in the 8th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, who fought in the 6 day war. Regardless...the flood gates have been opened. Get some good pics when you score it!
Desuetude Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Hah! Take that! 1) Bait victim with feigned interest in an IDF 2) Victim spends his kids' inheritance on IDF, leaving him broke 3) Switch focus to TRUE object of desire... SM300 Checkmate!
