Stephane
The Rolex YachtMaster "Noob" unmodified Dear All, Here is the second watch I ordered from Narika. The Rolex YachtMaster from the Noob Factory. Again, this is not a review, but a pure pictorial of a watch I had never considered before. About the deal I am not a regular customer of Narika. This is the second watch I asked him to bring back for me. Yup, your guess is right : 60£/83€/124$ for this Noob right out of the box. Actually it's less than some genuine Rolex box set Delivery Same as the ExplorerII Since the watches were in EU, it took two business day to land on my desk. For Sub maniacs, this is a weird watch, isn't it? Yes. I am truly surprised that I like to wear it in fact. For that kind of price I would recommend to everyone to give it a chance. Photo time Side note: the dial color is closer to grey than yellowish…I have no idea if you see it yellowish but it is certainly not close to yellow. Do I regret my purchase? I never hold a genuine YM myself, but why not give you my feelings?! The bezel is fantastic in my opinion (smooth and splendidly finished), the cyclop is not too far right, the crown guards might be modified of course (again) … Ok the date is a bit bold, but come on, we know from valued members here that genuine Rolex have differences too. The watch is very heavy: solid links and end links on the bracelet which is very well finished too. My conclusion I will not say I will buy a genuine one (too many other models are sexier to me), but I like this watch. That is all for now folks. w.genzo
Great review, this beauty is in my wish list.. But shouldn't it be the same of TTK? From TTK's pics, date font and the small sticks (four instead of three) under SWISS MADE are different.
Jetsons
Nice watch and review, Stephane & terrific photos as usual! I'm not too familiar with the YM but I couldn't help notice that the crown is nicely centered on the case. There are only two other rollies that I can think of that have the same, namely the MBW 1665 and the 2893-2 GMTs. Cheers!
scoobs1971
Bonsoir monsieur Stephane, That's an awesome watch... congrats! Normally I'm not really a Rolex fan. This is the first who grabs my atttention. How accurate is it to the gen? What movement does it have?
Bazz
Thanks for the review Stephane Great pic's as well!
By-Tor
This is an amazing rep. The best ever version of YM without a doubt. I don't particularly like the Yacht-Master but I've been considering this lately, just because the rep is so nice. Thanks mate. Great pics and review (as usual). PS: I have only one complaint: No wrist shots.
SubFrog
Nice...I like it. And I want another. I have a really bad Yachty rep that I got when I first starting hanging around here...it's really bad. But, I still wear it every now and then. Great pictorial review. Thanks. Stephane
Thanks so much guys for your replies. I cannot comment how accurate it is but BKLM did a review of it and apparantly it's really close. I did not want this watch either so I didn't even check the gen. The mvt is the asian 21 J I think. It's not ETA for sure. Well, as I said you know. For that price, why not buy it and give the YM a chance And here we go: ze wristshot It feels big on the wrist by the way. Xyphis
Very nice. Thanx for the pictures. Perhaps it will be moved to my 2008 list. Out of money with my December ones already planned for now
indyberetta
Which of our dealers sell the ETA version of this watch and what do they refer to this model as? I want one, but I want the ETA in it as I already have the asian movement and just love the watch! These are VERY close to gen!
Stephane
@Indy Narika does not believe this version is available with ETA. I belive him. I think that there might be some confusion with the "Noobs". The Noob "factory" (that also manufacture the famous NoobMariner) produces these Rolex models with asian only anyway. So, any other Noob + eta is not coming from that factory or is a modded one (maybe that is the case) Cheers Stephane
dax
I have both; an ETA ver from Andrew and an asian noob. The ETA ver is a much better finish - as it should be - on the asian the lume markers don't look right - too yellow - the bezel teeth aren't sharp. I take some pics to compare for next weekend
Stephane
Hmmm, Andrew never sold Noobs... Are you sure you do not mix with Begin/VIP, ....
scoobs1971
Angus is selling the ETA-version hxxp://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b14/puretime/WATCHES/0%20NEW%20ARRIVAL/00-2007%20NOVEMBER/Rolex%20Yacht-Master%20Noob/ Does it look similar to yours, Stephane? By the way, I went to an AD yesterday and saw a YM with the SWISS MADE exactly positioned as yours with the gap at the 6 position. I guess Rolex has several versions out..... dax
Hmmm, Andrew never sold Noobs... Are you sure you do not mix with Begin/VIP, .... The noob (supposed to be a noob) was from TTK ETA from Andrew as shipped, since the pic was taken - modded CGs and new bezel inlay. The one in the pic just does not look right.
