broke5000
Hey everyone, Looking for a little feedback on the PAM 005 from DSN; In paticular the lume on the hands versus the lume on the dial. From my understanding, the lume on the dial does not match the lume on the hands because the C1 lume was only applied to the dial? My question is, if the lumes do not match, is it obvious during the day or under light and is that one of the for sure tells of a rep? I'm not really concerned with how the watch looks at night as far as how strong the lume is but I just want to make sure that the mis-matched lumes do not scream rep. if u have pics of your 005's would love to see them... Thanks!!!
PAMman
DSN's watches may look OK at night if you keep the lights turned off. Otherwise the woeful lack of quality and general poor finish will be too evident and the frustration that normal rep or gen parts won't fit will really drive you nuts. I know because I have one and the only redeeming feature is the decorated Swiss 6497 inside and the AR'd crystal. The case, caseback, crown, crownguard, dial and hands are all worse than normal reps. Wake up and smell the coffee.

deltatahoe
fwiw, several people are saying good things about the fit & finish of puretime's ultimate 111e.... otherwise, you're probably better suited to pick up a cheaper version from a traditional dealer and have it modded by ziggy. just my $0.02... deltatahoe
broke5000
Thanks for the suggestions D! Although I agree with you that puretime's ultimate 111e is a very nice watch, I have my heart already set on obtaining a 005. I thought I was set on the Davidsen 005 but I guess I need to expand my search radius again Edited December 7, 2007 by broke5000
keeno
I bought a Davidsen 005 about 6 months ago and was very happy with it. The fit and finish of the watch in general was excellent IMO. The lume was evenly covered and looked great at night. Overall i was very happy with the whole package davidsen offered, good communication, fast delivery and great product. I know people have mixed opinions but thats just my overall experiance. Good luck mate Steve

bazonkers
I guess PAMman has been violated in some way by DSN but I have no issues with DSN watches either. Good fit, finish. I am getting several of his relumed so the hands and dial match. The case, CG, crown are all fine.

I have heard the same from others, so even without him saying that, I know what he says isn't based on anything but trying to let us see another point-de-vue. However, I still like DSN. Who was it who once said, "if you want quality go to Davidsen. If you want accuracy, go somewhere else"? Well, I want quality, and I feel I get it with DSN. *shrug*
archibald
I guess fit and finish is subjective when comparing rep to rep, but the inability of DSN's watches to fit other rep, aftermarket, or OEM parts is a fact, sadly, and is the dealbreaker for most serious collectors, since most serious collectors mod. So if other rep parts and OEM parts do not fit on DSN watches, does that make his watches the least accurate reps? Where is another good place to check out 005, that are good to go out of the box w/o modding it?
