Vintage Explorer 1016

Came across a vintage Explorere 1016 for sale. Owner says it is from the early 60's.

Are these sought after at all?

It has a riveted bracelet which obviously isn't the original bracelet with the watch, but would be interesting to put on to a vintage 1680 or 1665!

What would it be worth??

Did Rolex certify that's a gen dial? I'm not real happy with the "O" in ROLEX. But daaaannnnnng that's a beauty.

If it has "Tenzing Norgay" engraved on the back, don't pass it up! :tu:

Man, I dunno. I've seen dials like that one with the funky coronet and then I've seen dials with a coronet more like you'd expect to see. Check this gilt dialed 1016 that sold for $5,600 (item 170175417723).

That one has the dial I expect to see. Yours just bugs me somehow. And for only $300 less than you can get a gilt dialed 1016? I'd pass. Sorry.
