Try searching under model number 6263...and you will find that the value is probably somewhere between $25,000 and $50,000.
Guest avitt
Ohh...he got the watch in '87 I assume that you don't mean that he purchase the watch new in '87...
tmg
There's a 6263 but not a 626300 -hopefully it doesn't have that model number . The next generation Daytona's after 6263/6265 were 1652X. Might want the recheck the model number or some photos would be even better.
Guest HaloArchive
Okay..lets clear it up... My dad bought the watch NEW in 1987 for about $5000 I think he said. Now, he would like to know its market value. He has only woren (Is that the correct word?) the watch 2 times. He has origional everything. Its basically been sitting in the closet collecting dust for the past umteen years.
arty909
Hmmm, 1987 huh? Drop the two zeros, not sure where you got them, and do a google image search. Then, visit Josh or Andrew's sites and compare pictures. You will find your holy grail. Sorry for not spelling it out, I'm on my way out the door to go see "I am Legend". Best of luck, Arty

Guest HaloArchive
Well..I just called him and asked for pictures of it face on, the side where the crown is and the back where the bracelet etc of it is. arty909
We are trying to find its value in todays market. I got too anxious to be first to point you in the right direction of a rep. But then, why did post this on a Rep forum? Anyway, go here for more info: http://www.antiquorum.com/ Arty
freddy333
If you can provide the following 2 items, I can probably direct you to a reliable pricing guide: 1. A good, clear picture of the watch viewed directly from the front, to include the entire dial and the winding stem and 2 pushers. Fuzzy or dark pictures taken with phones or unfamiliar cameras will result in, at best, an equally imprecise value for your watch. 2. Answer this question (without any assistance from other members please): Is your father's watch self-winding, battery-operated or does it need to be wound manually to run? Guest HaloArchive
Waiting on getting pictures. It has to be wound manually to run.

freddy333
It has to be wound manually to run. Good, that is encouraging.
Guest HaloArchive
Good, that is encouraging. Why is that encouraging? Is there something special about these watches movements or something that differentiates them from the rest? My father is in a resturant right now so it may be an hour or two until we get some pictures. None the less...i will bug him until i get them. I am very interested to know how much it is worth. I can answer questions per what i remember about the watch though until we get some pics.
Toadtorrent
Why is that encouraging? Is there something special about these watches movements or something that differentiates them from the rest? He wanted to confirm that the movement at least seems right. If it was battery powered or automatic with that model number, it would definitely not seem right and could indicate a rep instead of a gen. Given that it is manual wind, that is in line with the cosmograph of that generation, which would help increase confidence that you have a highly coveted piece.
