Scam list (originally from FM)

dax

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I know a couple of other posters have put up a list of scammers. But here's quite a comprehesive one.

Originally posted by FM on repgeeks, but has since been banned from that site (dunno why, so don't ask. Sylar wouldn't say)

I've added a few to this list, so if any are missing add them to the thread.

Same goes for any that you believe are legit. I'm sure with the collective knowledge of our expert users on here, this list should become very accurate.

Thank you for this post, it really puts things in perspective. I'm quite happy to see all of these actually, because hopefully, people will get scammed and refrain from trying to buy replicas therefore indirectly maintaining their exclusivity factor.

I think this is outstanding. I needed something like this years ago. It would have kept me from making those stupid posts like: Is giveusyourwallet.com a scam site?

Thanks dax.

It should be pinned...or put in the Auction Sams / Knowlege base threads.

The list represents a lot of work on FM's part, and it shows.

However, all we need is the rather short list of dealers who have proved themselves over time. It's much easier to choose a dealer from a short list than it is to wade through a long list of sites to stay away from.

Impressive compilation, all the same.

Hey what's goin' on? I've seen that somewhere's before.

Yes you have seen this list before....too bad it took so long for it to hit this forum....its been up for months over at RWG1....a little update here and a little update there....this list really should be pinned....that way the noobs have a quick and easy reference....

I sure hope this "FM" person gets the credit they deserve :good:

Did someone just miss something

noobs?

Wow, thats a whole bunch of scamming mofos out there. We know they exist as many of us have been victimized by these hooligans prior to finding this place.

You forgot to mention though...

Is it certified, that www.swissreplicastore.com is a scam? I am pretty convinced by their professional appearance and heard one or two things about positive transactions.

Or is that list put together by assuming, that all these sites are scam-stores?

If all of those website are scam.. where can i find a good website where i can buy a rep watches in good quality?

That's easy! Just go to the dealer section of this forum. You will find a list of dealers (collectors ;) ) that have proven to be honest and provide members with good service.

I'm not sure if it is the same dealer, but, my VCO was from a dealer called replica2u, on LoudFrog. Absolutely zero communication, but, the goods still arrived within the accepted time-frame. Very nice watch too, exactly the same case as is sold by the Cartel, but with an Asian movement, so about half the price. Really nice watch, I just never really 'bonded' with it, so passed it on. If anyone has any questions about the watch, it'd be best to ask them to Victoria. The watch has been in her possession now much longer than it was in mine.

32ee3cb4.jpg

As for EuroFakes, I bought my Submariner from them (before finding these forums). They might have pulled my pants down over the price, but, they did send me a watch. Within 3-4 days. Scammers don't sent out anything. Ever. Indeed, no point in paying extra money unnecessarily for something when the same thing is available for cheaper, but, if someone chooses to pay the extra, that's up to them.

Submariner-1.jpg

Look at WatchMark's sales of HBBs. If I recall, they're considerably cheaper than the Cartel offerings. Does that then mean that the Cartel were pulling people's pants down on their prices of the HBBs? ( ;) )

I wonder, just how many of these 'scam sites' people have actually purchassed from, or if they've just been called scam sites, and no one's ever bought from them because someone called them a scam site... Without feedback for each and every one of those sites (some listed several times) Such a list is little more than a lot of copy/paste propoganda. Now, I'm not suggesting that people should risk their money on sites which have been proven to be scam sites, and yes, prices might well be better with forum dealers, so why spend extra money unnecessarily, but, at the end of the day, people really need to get out of the mentality of thinking that just because someone isn't a 'recommended dealer', that doesn't automatically mean they are a scammer ;)

A scammer in the replica world is someone who promises something to be delivered as advertized, and intentionally delivers a different product doesn't even send one at all :)

As TeeJay pointed out, he received his sub from EuroFakes, and they didn't really misrepresent anything, just that TeeJay didn't have the knowledge he know does after frequenting these forums.

Exactly. It's like, I bought a set of Apple earphones in HMV for

If people want to say that someone who advertizes the watch with movement A and ships watch with movement B are scammers, then you have no choice but to call Josh and Andrew and any one else guilty of this as scammers, as they have done it before.

Absolutely  I think some of the terms used to describe the movements, say 27 jewels (or something else which doesn't exist) on one hand, I say is misleading, so not quite honest, but, at the end of the day, if the movement works, (and the watch is delivered) what difference does it make  (Well, obviously it does make a difference, but it's certainly not as bad as selling an Asain movement as an ETA movement, for example)

After all is said and done about this. It is obvious that it will be far more simple to have a list of "approved" dealers (which we have) than for a Noob to have to wade through such a long list of names. Besides, these scam sites sprout like weeds and can disappear just as fast making it difficult to keep up to date. Noobs that have located this site will learn in short order that the replica waters are filled with sharks. While I commend FM for his effort to prepare such a list, I'm sure that it has it's place but, I'm not so sure that it is necessary.

And what happens when noobs (or anyone for that matter) has an issue with an "approved dealer"? People basically tell them to sit down, shut the frak up, and that *insert name of dealer here* will make it right. Not really much comfort to the person with the issue, especially if the issue is one which points to a pattern of behaviour, which others turn a blind eye to (or have in the past) As has been mentioned before, just because someone is not "approved", that does not automatically mean they are a scammer, and, equally, just because someone is on the "approved list", that does not mean that they are above question, should a reasonable and legitimate issue be raised.
