bazonkers
Yes, those teeth are wierd. What purpose do they serve? Funny thing is, I look at large photos like this and then look back at my reps. They look soooooooo small. I doubt people that have seen a 027A know about the teeth. PAMman
Those teeth are a reflection of the inner edge of the crwon on the polished bezel. The 027A has the same case as all other 44mm models - I have a friend who has one of these. *See the pin in the A series CG - the earlier series aren't as well made or as tight fitting as the later CGs....really no better than a Jimmy Fu CG. chubbchubb
the crown guard lever has disappeared The background of this picture has been altered in Photoshop... whoever did this, did a poor job and while cutting out the watch from its original background, deleted the CGL... HauteHippie
the crown guard lever has disappeared Yea, that was the first thing I noticed too... What happened to the lever?

babola
the crown guard lever has disappeared It is a leverless self-engaging crown prototype from 1998. The CG is missing the lever and is there just for form. They made one of these, but never went into a production, since Paneristi didn't like it - LOL! ...sorry
Corgi
Antiquorum do this very frequently... I really like to have a close-up look at the complicated watches because their beauty is just as visible under a microscope as it is from far away. I was always wondering, though, if these are real photographs or just computerized drawings... they seem so "perfect" in the pictures that its hard to believe somebody actually shot that with a camera... dadog13
Teeth on the case? You guys are killing me. ...but I have never noticed that before while looking at pics of PAMs...strange! well, just to add one more pic of a PR dial (this is a rare dial // seems it is a prototype dial) : Wonder why the rep makers never did a good version of the 027/028 with the asian movement (I know that there are reps of them with asian movements - but they are poorly done IMO)... sssurfer
well, just to add one more pic of a PR dial (this is a rare dial // seems it is a prototype dial) : Yes, a prototype, and a very early one too. Oddly, a next-step prototype (028 too) is what is displayed as 027 and 028 reference pics on some sites also including the ViaPaneristi site: http://poodpood.spymac.com/officinepanerai/ http://poodpood.spymac.com/officinepanerai/target20.html http://poodpood.spymac.com/officinepanerai/target21.html http://www.viapaneristi.com/pammodels.htm http://www.viapaneristi.com/pammodelsrefer...amhtm/pam28.htm
dadog13
I was just reading an italian watch magazine last night...from the 1998...the price of these (027 & 028) was 4.600.000 lit (lire italiane)...that would be today something as 2.

dadog13
Exactly. And on current auctions they usually go @ about 11000-12000 USD. Even a small thing when compared to a 127 or, especially, a 203. I think I've read somewhere that the prices of the 028 are higher than that..they really rarely appear on the 2nd hand market... from all the pannies, the two I'd love to have are the 028 and the 203... Good to know. I was remembering prices of 1+ years ago, they have probably grown up now. And the USD is weaker. from all the pannies, the two I'd love to have are the 028 and the 203... We have a lot of things in commons, dadog! Even if the 104, 147 and 212 are not so bad to me too. Not to speak about the 233, 236, 270, 274...
