Life in Alaska - Part XVII

Too much insulation.

People think because it's cold you have to dress like the Michelin Man. So they do, and that's fine for sedentary tasks. But then when you exert yourself the heat cannot get out. I stress that with my boy scout troop all the time... dress in layers with zippers and openings you can use to vent heat as you exert. Then you stay drier and when the exertion ends, you zip back up again.

PS: who can tell me why those bars are there over the roadway?

Alaska is too warm for us, thats why we sold it :)

So your roommate lived in Oymyakon? THAT is cold. Sadly, I've only lived in placed where it hits -70 to -80 regularly. I'll tell you, working outside in those conditions makes a -20 bike ride feel balmy.
