Greystash Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Is it just me or do the CG's on this new sub look like a monkey was let loose with a jewelers file? M Serial Sub @ Nick's I much prefer the look of the flat top, sharp edged CG's than these pointy looking things. What does this mean for future reps?
llsteve80 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Hmmm, maybe its the lighting? ( I hope ) They look normal to me
Greystash Posted February 4, 2008 Author Report Posted February 4, 2008 To me they look to have rounded the outside edges of the CG's giving them a more pointed appearance; like they have been over buffed. I know it's only a small thing but I have always focused on the classic shape of a subs CG's and now they seem to have changed them. Maybe it's just me...
Greystash Posted February 4, 2008 Author Report Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) Just so we're clear, I'm talking about the difference between this edge and this edge. I've never seen a rounded edge on a CG like this before unless the case has been refinished about five times. Edited February 4, 2008 by Greystash
piratedzeus Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 If this is permanent Rolex is the funniest brand ever
alligoat Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 There's no doubt the cg's have a more rounded over- pointed look, harks back to the pointed cg's on the 5513's in the early 60's. Just more proof that Rolex is a moving target. But I'm with Rosnik, what is that hologram like marking on the case at 9 o'clock? Why booger up a nice polished case?

The watch in the picture still has the protective stickers attached, the stickers give the strange appearence on the crown guards and have the 3D barcode at 9.

alligoat Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 On closer inspection, I see the protective plastic, but it doesn't change the shape of the cg's- especially at the ends. At least the hologram/barcode at 9 o'clock would go away.
deltatahoe Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 the engraving on the rehaut = :yucky: just another reason i will stick to vintage rolex for genuines deltatahoe
