We can only hope and wait for a decent 1675 -_-

As far as I know all Gmt rep have crappy CG!

Why don't you look at Kelster's 16700?

Noob gmt + gen gmt master I dial + drilled lugholes

sadly its not mine anymore - but the new owner will improve it to

a new level ;)

so this will be maybe the best GMT :)

A vintage GMT would be one watch that I'd love to see the MBK folks get around to repping.

Out of the variety of vintage rolex models, the availability of parts for the vintage GMT's is much better than it is for 1680's or SD's.

It would be much easier for the average rep builder to source GMT parts than the sub/SD parts that are currently scarce in the marketplace.

Interting work, UBI! B)

Get more info please.........

I definitely think you should pic this project up again...looks like you're almost there.

Thanks, guys :) Unfortunately, the project hit some pretty significant snags; the case is the biggest issue, as finding the right example has proven to be difficult. First is the issue of the rehaut height; gens have a very low profile rehaut that I've not seen duplicated without modification. Second is finding a case that will accept a gen T116. I've not fount any that work well in that regard either. Last but not least, the 1675 is a rather thin profile watch. Much thinner than most of the existing cases that could be used as the basis for such a project.

The other point I had trouble getting my head around was the fact that gens were selling for around $2k US at the time. I had considered the idea of just picking up a gen and being done with it. However, I believe I opted to build a second El Primero Daytona instead :)

For reference, here is a gen 1675 slow set that I helped a friend acquire. The pics illustrate some of the issues I had frustration with :)
