cib0rgman
Hello, I have a vintage Rolex crown without the dots is this one correct for a 1665 or 1680. I know that i s very hard to get a tube but maybe an after market tube from ofrei will fit the crown. Can someone give me some input in regards to use it or not. tmg
6mm tubes for datejusts fit some of the old twinlock crowns if they have the thinner interior diameter. It's worth a try for few $.
mucrewbtp
You may be better off just using a current 703 triplock crown and tube. The water resistence will be better, and its not wrong for the watch. If at any time the watch was serviced by RSC they would have replaced the crown and tube with the current model. -Mike
cib0rgman
Thanks for the input guys, so I guess If I want to make the watch looks more like a real Rolex a Triplock will the way to go. by the way I do have a Triplock too. takashi
Yes... Triplock 703 is way to go. Even gen watches may come with this newer crown style too after service/rehaul by Rolex.
freddy333
You will have alot of trouble locating the proper tube for that crown (assuming it is a genuine vintage part), and, if you do, it will probably be very expensive. I agree with the others that a modern 703 is the way to go. This is the part that Rolex would fit to the watch during a normal service.
tmg
Good points about the 703 crown. I do love the look of the old twinlock and how compact they are compared to the newer crowns. I hope I don't have to replace mine on my Tudor 9401. It is very true the rule about vintage Rolex is -there are no rules or many exceptions to them...
