Ztech Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 http://www.nicereplica.com/pro_detail.php?ProId=126 Looks pretty good for the price no?
LifterCatcher Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 Who is the dealer never herd of that site>?
FxrAndy Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 I doupt that it is any better or worse than you will get from the people here, but at least you will get it from the people here.
Ztech Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 Sorry, I forgot where exactly I got that dealer info from, but I thought the prices were good if those watches indeed come with genuine Swiss movements like they state.
FxrAndy Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 The only swiss bit will be the base plate, the top bridges will be all asian.
Ztech Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 The only swiss bit will be the base plate, the top bridges will be all asian. Ahh... so is that their bait and switch? These guys advertise as Swiss movements, but they're as you described above? Ok, I'm still learning. Thanks for that info.
arty909 Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 Who is the dealer never herd of that site>? That's Ruby! Well respected dealer around here.
Ztech Posted March 2, 2008 Author Report Posted March 2, 2008 That's Ruby! Well respected dealer around here. Thanks arty for clearing that up for us. If I recall correctly, I think I got that link from another thread on this forum. By the way, Ruby's PAM111H has got my interest peaked and that price.... Any opinions on it? Is there a consensus around here about it? Thanks.
peepshow Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Ahh... so is that their bait and switch? These guys advertise as Swiss movements, but they're as you described above? Ok, I'm still learning. Thanks for that info. ANY 6497 that has Panerai decorated bridges is using Asian bridges. Not really bait and switch, IMO. The only 100% Swiss 6497s you'll find in rep watches are the ones that come with one of the standard levels of ETA decoration and no Panerai markings.
t Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 the main plate is also asian it is a 100% asian movement... like all other rep movements. And this ETA stamp is a fake like all others too
TeeJay Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 A respected seller selling an Asian movement as Swiss?!?! I'm shocked!! Shocked and apalled at such fraudulent behaviour!!
peepshow Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Hmmmm, interesting. I just followed the link and looked at the photos. Straight spokes on the balance wheel but using the Incabloc anti-shock system. I would tend to agree that movement is a knock-off ETA. Has someone notified Ruby? I know she's not real technical when it comes to watches, I think it's likely that these are being sold to her as "Swiss" from her supplier...
tootall Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 the main plate is also asian it is a 100% asian movement... like all other rep movements. And this ETA stamp is a fake like all others too If this is an Asian base, it would be the first I have ever seen with a dimple in the gold weight.
Ztech Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 So I guess it's either real Swiss, Asian or a ETA copy? Hmm... I guess they're really good at making reps of the movement now. So what does everyone think? A good buy at that price?
frankt Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Well....It SAYS :"Swiss" on the movement, and on the dial!!....Why WOULDN'T a $250.00 watch have a $300.+ movement in it...????.... ;) Remember the first name of this forum....LOL
