Scirocco Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 Hi all, I would like to buy this Carrera Chronograph. Does anyone know the original name of this model and when it is produced/sold? Thanks, Alex
Scirocco Posted March 24, 2008 Author Report Posted March 24, 2008 I really don't know. These are the pictures I found on www.chrono24.com. One is a Heuer.
musicale Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 Interesting, I like it. Being based on a vintage Heuer style I bet it's a more traditional size too. Try checking on Watchuseek or something.
Scirocco Posted March 24, 2008 Author Report Posted March 24, 2008 With 40mm x 16mm it's not really a traditional size. This model is sold by Andrew and Joshua (amongst others?). They put it recently on their websites. I can't imagine that they would sell a fantasy rep.
Scirocco Posted March 25, 2008 Author Report Posted March 25, 2008 Maybe this will help. An original (I hope, seeing the price) is sold on this website: http://www.chrono24.com/web/nl/suchen/u/in...anzahlgesamt=53
marrickvilleboy Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Maybe this will help. An original (I hope, seeing the price) is sold on this website: http://www.chrono24.com/web/nl/suchen/u/in...anzahlgesamt=53 Well you just answered your own question haven't you? btw....alot of rep sellers have fantasy watches on their websites. Look around and you shall find.
Cognoscente Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 (edited) That is gorgeous... Please update us on the status of your search; I may want to pick one up too. = ) Edited April 2, 2008 by Cognoscente
peyups Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 its nice but when you look closer the movement's date window is round while the dial's date window is square.. tsk.
Scirocco Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 The question isn't really answered. Problem is that I can't find this model on an official Omega site or in a brochure. For all I know, the guy on www.chrono24.com buys a fantasy TAG from Joshua and sells it as a rare original. Well you just answered your own question haven't you? btw....alot of rep sellers have fantasy watches on their websites. Look around and you shall find.
tomhorn Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 (edited) It looks to be a model CV2111.FC6182 from the Classics Series. I believe from about 4 years ago celebrating the 40th anniversary of Carrera. The dial isn't exact. It also came in other variations, the CV211.FC6180 (Black/croc strap) and CV2111.FC6182 (white dial/brown croc). Edited April 2, 2008 by tomhorn
Scirocco Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 Thanks! Just googled the model number, can't find it on the web. Do you have any info where I could find more information? It looks to be a model CV211.FC6180 from the Classics Series. I believe from about 4 years ago.
tomhorn Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Sorry ... edited my post, try the above numbers ... also, you can see it on the Tag Heuer site by going to the Historical Timepieces section and looking in 2004.
Scirocco Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 Thank you very much for the information. Sorry ... edited my post, try the above numbers ... also, you can see it on the Tag Heuer site by going to the Historical Timepieces section and looking in 2004.
musicale Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I saw the gen or a similar model at an AD over the weekend. Nice watch, a bit small for me.
Scirocco Posted April 9, 2008 Author Report Posted April 9, 2008 I also decided that this watch isn't going to be a part of my starting collection. I still like it. On Repgeek someone was asking the same question, so I could help him with the gathered information. On Repgeek I now am the "Vintage Carrera" expert
