Seadweller4000 Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 IW371803 Die Fliegeruhr Doppelchronograph Edition "DFB 2008" Limited to 500 pieces 44mm in diameter
takashi Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Sweet Doppelchrono It can get too fancy but that's Germany's colour. I will settle with mocha version though...
dluddy Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Don't like it myself.. IWC meets Silberstein
b16a2 Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 I think there are too many colour combinations in there, maybe the basic panda dial and red hands, but the yellow in there makes it look cheap in my opinion
ratchpot Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 I don't like it. It looks like a Frankenwatch.
chrgod Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 A Fliegeruhr for a soccer team? Are they supposed to wear it when they play, and time the length of the match?? Stupid idea... The dial reminds me of the white faced Panerai Luminor, PAM113.
ratchpot Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 A Fliegeruhr for a soccer team? Are they supposed to wear it when they play, and time the length of the match?? No. Professional soccer players are not allowed to wear watches on the field of play.
alant Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Looks like a colorful year for IWC. Saw from another thread they also playing with colors for the cousteau diver. Maybe this watch in black dial and all yellow hands take out the red may work better? Then again taste is subjective.
youpmelone Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 Combining Germany & Soccer, german colors and DFB... brrr more then one stap too far for a Dutchie
chrgod Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 I wish IWC could really go back to the roots of the "FliegerUhr" and make a classic "Luftwaffe-edition", instead of "Top Gun"... Maybe a "Herman Goering" edition instead of hounoring a French author... And a " Messerschmitt"- model line instead of "Spitfire"...
Seadweller4000 Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 I agree, it is not my choice as well. But Germany is a soccer crazy country - and the national team receives watches for every tournament. 2006 it was an IWC big pilot. I also doubt a Hermann G
piratedzeus Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 With the upcoming "Red Baron" movie.... I really expect a "Red Baron" IWC..
wadan Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 With the upcoming "Red Baron" movie.... I really expect a "Red Baron" IWC.. That would be a big Marketing Risk, The movie is too controversial , cant wait to watch it though
loopzilla Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 (edited) I wish IWC could really go back to the roots of the "FliegerUhr" and make a classic "Luftwaffe-edition", instead of "Top Gun"... Not a classic dial IMHO. @chrgod - I assume given the emoticon your post was a joke. BTW - Antoine de Saint Exupery was not only an author but was also a renowned pilot Edited April 27, 2008 by loopzilla
Fidestro Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Not a classic dial IMHO. @chrgod - I assume given the emoticon your post was a joke. BTW - Antoine de Saint Exupery was not only an author but was also a renowned pilot WARNING - OFF TOPIC I had already known Antoine was an author as I had read The Little Prince years ago, knew his history as a pilot as well, however I was reading a news article a few weeks back about the circumstances in regards to his death in battle. Apparently there is an individual who is taking credit for shooting Antoine down and this man also claims that Antoine was one of his favorite authors. It is on wikipedia for those of you interested. Both German and French investigators belive the guy is full of BS.
