carlcsl Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Hey Noel, Nice watch, is that stainless steel or titanium?? Hard to tell from pics.
Noel Fleischer Posted September 1, 2008 Author Report Posted September 1, 2008 (edited) its titanium. btw- is this the 'slevin' watch? Edited September 1, 2008 by Noel Fleischer
carlcsl Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Wow you did get a great deal, awesome watch! It's kind of the titanium version of the slevin watch. Check out the Bourn Ultimatum, the assasin in that film wears your watch, cool! Make sure I'm first on the list when you want to sell
lazarini Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Slevin watch is the SS version but that don't handicap his purchase at all... marvelous piece for a price of a franken congrats and wear it well! laz
Noel Fleischer Posted September 1, 2008 Author Report Posted September 1, 2008 thanx alot guys. its a couple of years old and has some small scratches on the case, but the band is new and its been completely reconditioned at the AD. i was just down in the carribean and they are going for about $5700 list price. i think that i may end up buying more 2nd hand watches in the future. the gens are crazy and the reps are all $400- 500 lately.plus the qc issues with the reps is ridiculous. maybe 30-40% have some kind of 'issues' from my experience the last year or so.
Nex_necO Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Getting cocky, are we? Don't think you should expect to get a bargain like this every time... Just look what 2nd hand watches sell for at chrono24.com
Noel Fleischer Posted September 1, 2008 Author Report Posted September 1, 2008 yeah - i know gens are $$ new or old. by-tor was happy to pay about $3500 for his gmt -right? i happened to get lucky this time. makes up for some of my dud reps, lol.
RobbieG Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 You are making me confirm that I want to grab a rubber strap for mine so I can have some variety with the bracelet. Can anyone tell me if the rep rubber is 1:1 with the gen as I would rather not spend $400 if I don't have to...
yellomen Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Congrats Noel!!!!! That's a great buy man and i guess i'm speaking for a lot of fellow members... we are jealous! Hahaha, but man i'm happy for you. Enjoy that beauty... and if you ever wanna get rid of it. I'll double the price you paid
Noel Fleischer Posted September 1, 2008 Author Report Posted September 1, 2008 You are making me confirm that I want to grab a rubber strap for mine so I can have some variety with the bracelet. Can anyone tell me if the rep rubber is 1:1 with the gen as I would rather not spend $400 if I don't have to... i'm not sure about the prices, but if you can get a good buy on the gen or rep strap i'd take it. i have a rep ingy with the ss bracelet and its very heavy. this titanium/rubber combo is light (but not too flimsy either).
Noel Fleischer Posted September 1, 2008 Author Report Posted September 1, 2008 BTW- speaking of gens; i just wanted to show this Daniel Richard i got @overstock.com last year for about $750. you can get some very good deals on these and other 'lower rung' swiss watches such as Jacque LeMans. they have real valjoux 7750 mov'ts which is worth the price just for that.
b16a2 Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Congratulations, that is an amazing price, you have certainly found one fo the bargains of a lifetime!! Wear it well.
