poopypants Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) hxxp://www.pc88clone.com/0410-p-5006.html and no explosive gmt movement?!?! Edited September 3, 2008 by poopypants
ubiquitous Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Looks interesting. But $8,888,888.00?!
Cucumber_Jones Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 deflation happens quickly with J and A.
ubiquitous Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 These new rep Subs require a year to build... Edit: At least they got the rehaut straight. No more wok...
jot9011 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Man, that pearl looks funky! Too bad the SS wont be out until 2010, so you'll only have to wait two years to wear it. Maybe they'll get it right by then
AllergyDoc Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Looks like the GMT-II C: same bracelet, clasp, case, Maxi hands and hour markers. A Sub with no diver's extension? Polished mid-links? Is how the gen looks?
jot9011 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 The engraving on the bezel is pretty rough too. Looks like it was cut by hand with a butter knife
chefcook Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 light blue bezel and dial and we'd have a white gold 116619 like shown on this years basel show in april... It's a pitty they did not get this right if it was blue I'd instantly order one!
jot9011 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Josh's site says the GMT and new sub have the same case dimensions. Is this true? In any event the font color on the bezel should be white, not grey like on the GMT.
poopypants Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 oooh damn! i want a red sub again! i would buy that gen in a heart beat!!!
freddy333 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 I guess Josh/Andrew just want to get a leg up on the (gen) competition. It is priced at $228 now (Wednesday), so I guess it is available for sale. Any takers?
poopypants Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 if they could do a fantasy model with submariner in RED, i would totally be down... i really like it... its a "WORKING" alternative to the explosive GMT!!! fantasy or not, it has to be just as pretty!!! maybe some future clarification will announce that it is the same factory?!?! PP
ubiquitous Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 If they can make a no date model like the fantasy photoshop that elprimerozen posted, I'd likely buy one for the novelty, regardless of it being correct or not.
mjmurphy926 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Too bad the SS wont be out until 2010, so you'll only have to wait two years to wear it. Maybe they'll get it right by then You could tell everyone that you are very well connected with Rolex and that this is one of the prototypes that was given to you by Bob Rolex himself...So when the gen comes out and it's a little different, you can say "That's because mine was a prototype!!" P.S. If you want them to believe you, you might want to skip the "Bob Rolex" part
ubiquitous Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Replace 'Bob Rolex' with 'Patrick Heiniger' and you're golden.
poopypants Posted September 4, 2008 Author Report Posted September 4, 2008 @ ubi a no-date model would be the best model!!! novelty or not i would be wearing one right along with ya!!!
Logan Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 So much for Rolex's 10 year ahead marketing plan.. will be interesting to see if they respond to the rep's availability in any way
