pfran42
Its not official yet but Chris at Eurotimez has 2 new versions of the best out-of-the-box sub you can buy. There is now: Version with lugholes with no rehaut engraving: V3 http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn154/e...0V3%20Lugholes/ Version with no rehaut engraving: V4 http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn154/e...8%20Black%20V4/ I think Chris really cares about the needs/wants of the customer and is working very hard to be THE company name we quote when someone asks, "who has the best sub?" neteng1000
Maybe someone can clarify something for me. According to the official Rolex website, the Submariner has no engraving and no lug holes. Why does V4 have them?

According to the official Rolex website, the Submariner has no engraving and no lug holes. Why does V4 have them? A lot of members want the older style Rolexes of say, 10 years ago, when they DID have lugholes and they DID NOT have the engraving on the rehaut. I'm sure some senior members can chime in as to actual production dates for these runs.
blue_sphere
About 10 years ago they did have lugholes, also the crystal wasnt engraved AKA a lot cheaper to make a "gen" sub. Not to mention the "class" associated with an older rolex.
gillorin
2000 and below had lug holes and non solid end links, 2001 had lug holes and SEL, 2002+ is when they dropped the holes and started etching the crystal.

So the V4 is the "perfect" model for a 2001 Submariner if you change out the crystal (without the crown) since it uses the noob bracelet (that has SELs)? And the V3 is a rep of the 2002-whenever they started engraving the rehaut.
poopypants
Lug holes! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Who has the best HOLLOW SEL bracelet right now?!?! tell me Chris is offering this as an option?!?! not rain on this parade... but when are they going to bring a MBW-style Daytona back with the flat bezel and the ability to fit some genuine schtuff on it?!?! gillorin
How about the engraving? The engraving was first put on the redesigned DateJust and Turn O Graph at BaselWorld 2004, then 50th anniversary GMT II at BaselWorld 2006, then others models followed suit. perry563
V4 above DOES NOT have lugholes. V3 has lugholes. The question is....did they drill these lugholes the correct size and if not why not? Otherwise they would need to be drilled (so the correct size springbars could be added) which is a pain in the a..

poopypants
Is the drilled case coming with correct pre-2002 serials? (example K199999) again, maybe a 93150 hollow SEL bracelet?!?! hint hint...

Yuh, I'm confused about that too, because the current Subs don't have the 'ROLEXROLEXROLEX' on the rehaut, so when did they have? And pluses and minuses of the lugholes? Obviously without looks better??
its_urabus
watch in the link has a hollow link sel bracelet... edges look totally sharp, maybe a noob bracelet? crown on clasp looks like the one on the noob as well... any else agree? mars08
...And pluses and minuses of the lugholes? Obviously without looks better?? I recently had the same question. One of the Rollie experts explained that certain old model Subs had the lugholes. If I remember right, those versions haven't been made for about 5 years. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Not convinced on the engraving issue though. I don't think I'd like it....
Tribal
So a lot of member asked for a good Case with gen Bezel Assembly and no engraved Rehaut (like WM9) and for a Case with Lugholes. The Lughole Version is for some older Models. It was made from Ref 16800 -16610. There are Modells with 93150 Bracelets and some with 93250 Bracelet and SEL. Chris was so kind and talked to the Factory to build this Cases for the community here. Most of the Members don't like the engraved Rehaut Version so now we have it with no engraved Rehaut, thats fantastic in my Opinion. The Case with no Lugholes is a F-Series, Lughole one is A-Series wich is correct for both. I have two Samples of both Cases here and they look great. Now we can build some neovintage Rolexes like we ever want in the Past. I must thank Chris that he has done it for us. Never seen a dealer who take Care of his customers and made things possible by request. Now Chris is trying to change the Crystal to a generic one from Clarks. So we have the right Crystal with no edged Crown and Gasket like Gen which is a fantastic improvement for the Lughole Case.

its_urabus
I cant believe this is happening. lug holes, gen construction, gen like crown, near perfect crystal. I am in awe of what chris is doing for the rep world. lets hope he doesnt get kidnapped by a black van with rollie plates... so i do wonder if this takes gen spring bars with no mods. i think i would cry if things got that good... thanks for doing this chris...
