mossanti Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 NICE dial davidsend..ermm tempting .. thanks for the tutorial man..really great...I would love too spend times playing with my reps now ..more confidence..
sevomd Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Thank you Randy for the lesson. I will definitely give it a try when the dial comes in. Eddy
Guest Sql_pl Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Shouldn't the numbers and markers be a bit more recessed into the dial? Looks like they were on a previous version of that dial: Cheers!
sevomd Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Personally I think that the new dials lume is much more accurate than the old one. The old one seems almost like a sandwich dial. The new one seems to have the sandwich filled in with the lume. Eddy
fitch Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 it looks sooo close.. if only the numbers would have been a little more "crooked" then it would have been 99.9% accurate... but still very nice indeed!
tescardo Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Hi, is someone of you guys , who is owning the OLD 201/a version from davidsen and ordered the new dial, willing to sell th OLD dial to me? If yes PM me Thx
chris5264 Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I have the 201a on order and totally can't wait for this one. I find myself more and more into the pre V pams.... In fact, the 183 is the only one I currently have that isn't.
drop Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 (edited) I just got mine, it's a beauty. My first 44mm PAM... Edited July 30, 2006 by drop
new & improved osteopath Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 I apologize for my ignorance here- do the cg's on this series of PAM not have the visible pin, or were they polished in and brushed as on this rep?? I love this watch if it is correct- swap crowns and it is killer!! -O
thedoctor Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 I think I have to get this watch. It looks pretty sweet.
Cucumber_Jones Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 (edited) Here is mine! Edited July 30, 2006 by Cucumber_Jones
leitztozeiss Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Here is mine! Hi Cucs. The crown and guard look great. That will be my next purchase (I think).
Cucumber_Jones Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 I wonder if this guard will fit other PAMs... As far as I know the answer to that is "no" not without modification. Ask mark about that.
Finepics Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 As far as I know the answer to that is "no" not without modification. Ask mark about that. Here is mine with the early Davidsen dial. This is a sandwich dial that I have filled with lume. The biggest problem with it is the white lettering is not white enough. Davidsens CG's will not fit non Davidsen cases without modification. The screw holes are too small and do not align with the case holes. The pin should be visible. Also the CG has the wrong shape lever and side profile. The Pre-A's CG looks like this from the side: I hope Davidsen would consider re-designing the CG's as they are actually not right at all.
chris5264 Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 One thing about the gen crown guard that is simply good design, and something I've never seen on a rep is how the crown guard gets larger (thicker) as it moves away from the case. This is nice because it exposes more of the crown and makes for easier winding. Hopefully, we will see a good one in the future.
