bruce79 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 I sold these off a bit ago but not before snapping some pics. The 188 is the standard daylight case and the 196 is the 'old case'. Judge for yourself...I don't know which one is more accurate to the gen...I'll leave that to the experts but I thought it'd be good to finally get some pics side by side. old case on left...as you can see, the caseback is much thicker on the old case... old case on top...bezel is clearly thicker on the old case...lugs are shaped differently too... old case on left...bezel is wider/fatter on the new case, the bezel on the old case is thinner... old case on right...the crown guard is thinner on the old case, I don't know which is more accurate... old case on right...this picture speaks for itself...
dadog13 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 thank you very much for the comparison photos...now it is very easy to spot the differences....
Logan Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Thats a huge difference.. thanks for doing those pics.
beano2004 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Bruce79, thanks for clearing this up for me i too thought the same thing. bean

Watchmeister Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 And to give you a sense how good the old case is - here are a couple of pics of old case versus gen (albeit the case is the pre-daylight version but you get the drift):
Guest Sql_pl Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Great pics, thanks! My old case 196 is the only rep that I am sure I will never get rid of!
