cht Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) My insert is spinning freely already in the bezel or my euromariner. Should I get a new insert or just glue this one down in the meantime? And, any rec's on a decent replacement insert? My best recommendation so far was the jewelryoutlet555. comments? stilty Posted November 27, 2008 Author Report Posted November 27, 2008 Can you confirm this by measureing the retaining ring's bottom thickness, stilty? Yes, I can measure that for you. I was out of town for a few days, so no chance to do anything but family activities.
gplracer Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 CHT is that the insert that came with the watch or one you put in?
cht Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 The one that is spinning is the one that came with the watch. The one pictured is the jewelryoutlet one.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 try the insert from "helfands" on ebay
bklm1234 Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 JO insert is very nice esp for $15 shipped. The numbers, paint, and gloss are very close to gen. It's actually a thinner insert than gen. You save yourself a lot of filing to get it recessed in the bezel bay for wm9, PT sub, and MBK/Euromariner. Only complaint is the "4" a little different from gen's "4". I use JO insert a lot. -bk
cht Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 My insert that came on my euromariner came loose despite all the glue put on it.
HauteHippie Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 What a writeup!! Wow, stilty. Awesome contribution! The V3 bezel looks pretty darn good, no?
cht Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) What a writeup!! Wow, stilty. Awesome contribution! The V3 bezel looks pretty darn good, no? I think so too.... I am only considering replacing it because mine came with multiple scratches on it and glue on around the pearl. The pearl looks pretty good too. I have no need for the WM pearl I bought. The euro bezel's font is a little more portly. The numbers are pretty wide. wow, this pic makes the clarks crystal's cyclops look really far off to the right! the gen is font is more slim. highoeyazmuhudee Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 the gen insert in that picture looks too thin cmopared to todays models, also the 4 is a different font. there's SO MUCH variation between years EVEN in dials and date mags
cableguy Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Does the genuine bezel fit on the crystal retaining ring or did you have to get a genuine crystal retaning ring as well?
stilty Posted November 29, 2008 Author Report Posted November 29, 2008 Does the genuine bezel fit on the crystal retaining ring or did you have to get a genuine crystal retaning ring as well? It is all genuine. I did try to test fit, but I didn't want to push it too hard. Probably the rep would need a bit of sanding with emery cloth to get the gen to fit.
cableguy Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Thanks! I gotta keep my eyes open for a complete genuine bezel assembly.....i have a genuine bezel insert thats begging to be installed but i'd rather not shave it down some incase i can find a bezel assembly

He stated you can sand down the retaining ring and the insert will go in fine.
cableguy Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 but thats not the point =) the gen bezel assembly is so much more sexy!
