Guest RAZR Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Hello to all. I'm new to this wonderful forum. I'm looking for a "large" watch to add to my small, but growing collection. I have heard them mentioned and I am looking for suggestons. I would prefer a chrono but will also consider other styles. I have a Daytona rep now but want to try something larger. Any and all suggestions will be welcomed.
jonthebhoy Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Search the word "Panerai" and then spend the next six months ploughing through the results. Happy hunting. JTB
RichBlack Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Depends on how BIG you want to go Breitling Avenger Skyland (43mm) or Breitling Super Avenger (48mm) are very good.
nasosn Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I would suggest that you go for one of the Breitling watches e.g. Skyland V3, Super Avenger or Chronomat Evolution (i own this one and it is INCREDIBLE)!!! The choice is yours but Breitling watches are amazing
Toadtorrent Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 There's big...then there's big in the other dimension. The Breitling Skyland is 18mm thick...I consider that what makes this watch seem BIG. The Bentley 6.75 is 47mm in diameter...that's a whole new level of big but not quite as thick as the Skyland. The Super Avenger is big AND thick. The Graham Oversize is not just big...but with the pistol chrono lever may seem much bigger than the "case diameter" measurements. The IWC Cousteau Divers are big in appearance because they have so much "dial" and very little visible case...but are not really that big in measurement. PAMs seem big because their design is somewhat "blobby" and square-ish but in measurement are not that big at 44mm and smaller for many.
Samurai Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 49mm Super Avanger. Thought it was 48mm mate
fakemaster Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Actually no. Breitling advertises them at 48.40mm. In reality the total measurement including CGs is 54.23. But we'll just go with 48.
