concepta Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 DW case with 7750 movement????? I only thought he made cases with MM movement (for Val23 mounting) Will this case accept gen parts as well???
Tribal Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 You can get both Versions from the DW Daytonas.
concepta Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 You can get both Versions from the DW Daytonas. OK..but i assume the 7750 case does not accept gen parts!?
Tribal Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 OK..but i assume the 7750 case does not accept gen parts!? That's wrong the cases are similar the 7750 Case is more opened inside to carry the 7750 Movement also the caseback is higher. Both Cases accept Gen Tropic, Tube and Crown and aftermarket Pushers.
freddy333 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 OK..but i assume the 7750 case does not accept gen parts!? All DW Daytonas, regardless of the movement, share the same middle case (the 7750 caseback is taller, but if you remove the auto-wind rotor, you can fit lower caseback) & these will accept a gen movement (though some cases may require some modding), crystal, crown/tube & pushers.
gplracer Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 That's wrong the cases are similar the 7750 Case is more opened inside to carry the 7750 Movement also the caseback is higher. Both Cases accept Gen Tropic, Tube and Crown and aftermarket Pushers. It was my understanding that the 7750 accepts a gen movement if you get the lower profile case back. This caseback can be used on this case with the 7750 if the rotor is removed.
Demsey Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Great. The DW Daytona replicas are the most intriguing. Scary accurate. Stuff of legend should they be discontinued................................
the window god Posted January 11, 2009 Author Report Posted January 11, 2009 freddy is correct, this a7750 has had the autowind removed and that is why the lower caseback is installed. All DW Daytonas, regardless of the movement, share the same middle case (the 7750 caseback is taller, but if you remove the auto-wind rotor, you can fit lower caseback) & these will accept a gen movement (though some cases may require some modding), crystal, crown/tube & pushers.
the window god Posted January 11, 2009 Author Report Posted January 11, 2009 these will be going on the block soon, I just need to check them out and make sure that they do everything they are suppose to
the window god Posted January 12, 2009 Author Report Posted January 12, 2009 This thing is growing on me, I might have to keep this baby. Oh btw I have a red faced PN Daytona in route with a Swiss 7750 man wind too DW Daytona 6239 with a MM
gplracer Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Great job Window God. I think these look great.
dluddy Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 May I ask why you would be buying these, checking them out, and then re-selling them?
the window god Posted January 12, 2009 Author Report Posted January 12, 2009 Because I enjoy it and I think it is in the spirit of the forum. I have met nothing but great people here and like to give back. May I ask why you would be buying these, checking them out, and then re-selling them?
slay Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 May I ask why you would be buying these, checking them out, and then re-selling them? and, of course, like everyone else, he likes to make a little bit of money
dluddy Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 and, of course, like everyone else, he likes to make a little bit of money Starts to look an awful lot like a dealer which requires certain approvals here..
the window god Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 I dont think so, I am more like a not for profit. I may change my handle to march of dimes and, of course, like everyone else, he likes to make a little bit of money
the window god Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 I can tell you that I am no dealer, dealers make money at this and most of this comes from my fickle nature. I buy way more than I ever sell, I am just on a vintage daytona kick right now. That will most likely change as soon as my BK-WM9 V2 shows up. Starts to look an awful lot like a dealer which requires certain approvals here..
