alw Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Rolex has been restored, and I plan to do the same to the Glash
alligoat Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Very nice. I'm all for restoring older watches, it just makes them so much more enjoyable to look at and wear. Of course, on serious collectibles it is frowned on by the collectors willing to spend the big bucks. They want them in original condition. Maybe you could share with us where you had the restoration done.
RobbieG Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Fantastic. The 60's stuff is great. Have you ever done much with any 1940's stuff? I don't know why but lately I have really been into the look of 40's dials - especially Vacheron stuff...
RobbieG Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 What is that a 60's 3745 with the 17 jewel handwind?
RobbieG Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 I believe the Rolex is a model 3745. How did you aquire that one? Clean original examples bring close to $3K (usd) or so last I recall. Does the movement look like this?

He had sent it to a watchsmith who in turn sent it to Switzerland for dial restoration. Paid 800
