b16a2 Posted March 15, 2009 Author Report Posted March 15, 2009 What are the indexes? the indexes looks bad or? The main things I can see are; 1) The numbers are too big 2) The crown is too big 3) The hand stack is too big 4) The minute hand is too short 5) The hands look to be convex, whereas the replica's look flat 6) The lugs are straight, whereas the genuine's are curved

I'll reserve till I see in flesh. I'd prefer a solid case on this, these mvts really do look bad on open back, still that price for a double AR'd dress watch ain't bad
b16a2 Posted March 15, 2009 Author Report Posted March 15, 2009 lol - other than that, well it looks... I'll reserve till I see in flesh. I'd prefer a solid case on this, these mvts really do look bad on open back, still that price for a double AR'd dress watch ain't bad haha, they are minor flaws, but it's sometimes the niggly ones that make all the difference! I think in the flesh this will look pretty good. My GO SS was about teh same price, and factory pictures did it no justice. I have a feeling that for the money this could be quite a good purchase for IWC fans!
billywhiz Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Think your right actually, lol I was sniffing around the white face dial one - mind buzzing away, not a bad size either @ 43mm will sit nice under a cuffed shirt. Josh may well get a mail from me.
Guest asim Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 yeah there are obvious flaws, but for the price, that is not a bad purchase. in fact I like the look, it's not that bad at all.
lanikai Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 The genuine White dial is the Platinum Model .. the details from IWC web site, for it;s white dial model .. the black dial is ss in the genuine - Limited edition of 500 watches in platinum - Mechanical movement - Hand-wound - 46-hour power reserve when fully wound - Breguet spring - Sapphire glass, crossed out antireflective - See-through sapphire glass back Looks good for the price..
Shundi Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Looks pretty good for the money...def. a sharp dress watch!!
lanikai Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Looks pretty good for the money...def. a sharp dress watch!! .. I have to check with Joshua as to which rep has the most accurate Complications .. I think I would rather go with the ones that have auto Day/date change and the rest of the function ie. year/month are manually done... but the IWC black looks good .. oh what the heck I let my protifino go so ...
JWR Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Why the hell wouldn't they use the Jones-look movement that is in the Asian jones reps?
Corgi Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 The movement on this one looks really cheap and unfinished... I couldn't wear it.
Guest asim Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 http://www.watcheden.com/iwc-portugieser-f...--24388--1.html ^ have a look at the actual vintage the new "vintage" is based on. looks decent too.
eunomians Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Looks ok to me. i'll wait 'til someone buys it and posts good pics. Thus far, it looks like a Jones with a different dial.
