Nanuq Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 ...when you're up in a skiplane looking for a good snowboarding spot, touch down on good hard, fast snow, and slide over the edge of the mountain............. ...................and wind up like this. They both walked away and it took only minor repairs to fix the plane.
dluddy Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Yup, definitely a guardian angel to walk from that one Must have been a little tense in the cockpit for a while there
nikki6 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Don't know about tense, but I bet it smelt a good bit!!! Blimey Charley that was a lucky one!! Sixx
lanikai Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Caught by the Hand of God .... Only thought that comes to mind is ... What kinda outlook would you have on life after an experience like that ?

Toadtorrent Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Good thing you just happened to be climbing up the North Face solo to catch the plane and hold it up Nanuq!!
docblackrock Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 You can clearly see the track marks attempting to turn it about before the drop. You can imagine it, flaps down, drop here, nicely done, throttle right down, ground speed around 50, and suddenly the precipice appears. Fast. Too fast. Brakes. Sphincter factor of 9.8-plus at that point I'd imagine. Lucky escape definitely. But I'd be surprised if it was a vastly experienced pilot.
TwoTone Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Sphincter factor of 9.8-plus at that point I'd imagine. I'd say a 10.0 Doc... Strong enough to cut the end off a cigar... .
Demsey Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 "Hmmmmm, this doesn't look good. I don't think we are going to make it." "Well, TRY ADDING SOME POWER!" God looks well after some fools and all dogs.
robertk Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 You know the old saying, "Any landing you can walk away from is a good one". The guy who said that should see this!
