chefcook
A little trip to Mount Kandel last Winter. Sunny above 800m, cloudy and rainy in the valleys.. The Vosges, far far away: View to east, where the weather was much better on that day. Probably I'll drive to Donaueschingen / inner Black Forrest this afternoon. Will take some more scenic pics on the drive
asciwhite
This is my home in Norway. Sirdal is a small mountain village in the inland of Norway 1700 inhabitants. Big mountains, 5 ski lifts and a golfcourse (8 Holes). Lots of wild nature PS: People here would not know a good watch if it bit them in the nose However it is important to me.... I live in a small cabin with fiberaccess to the net (Yes in the middle of nowhere) Me and my dog Harley the beagle! Silence and serenity! Good for the soul. jacobsrood
Thanks for the subject. I am receiving a 45.5mm uPO (black with orange numbers and ETA 2824-2 movement) and Orange 42mm PO (with Jap OS20 Working Chronograph Quartz) next week. Have been wearing a 42mm PO with 21J movement for the last 3 yrs, but need more accurate timekeeping as I have to return to the jeweller on a frequent basis for fine tuning. Hope the ETA is more accurate. The Jap OS20 Quartz will hopefully be a boon - my Tag Link 2006 Chronograph (White) with Jap Quartz is ticking like a swiss clock (no pun intended!). It has been keeping excellent time for the last 2 yrs. We live on (almost) the southermost point in Africa - Cape Town - with Table Mountain as signature - best viewed from Bloubergstrand (my residence). Ships were banned from the infamous Table Bay from May-August due to the risk of running ashore in stormy weather, as are still happening today. This fishing boat ran into engine trouble. Another came to assist - both were stranded. To get to Cape Town city centre you have to make a huge U-turn around the bay (17km). An excellent spot for mountain biking is the Koeberg Nature Reserve surrounding the Koeberg Nucluear Power station - +-10km north of Bloubergstrand. chefcook
A grocery run this morning... Driving out of my village. Yep, Germans are bicyclists. A little wristie Mountains everywhere This is Germany, too. High tech companies, here a manufacturer of sensors. Many of these companies are very specialised in their product range and many of them are simply the best in the world. And often the most expensive too, but quality counts. Companies like these are the reason for the well known quality trademark "Made in Germany". The number of workers in industrial factories is decreasing since the 1970s and the number of highly skilled well trained specialists needed to fullfil the demand of today's producing german industry is growing. We have a enormous lack of engineers and technicians, in particular in the south. Getting a car park is more difficult than in the US *g* Small streets on my way to town center It's market! Leave the grocer behind, buy from the farmers. Costs the same, is better for everyone. Win-win-situation. And heading back to the car park You just bought some vegetables with ye olde chefcook

rip
Best place in Norway is where i live very central lots of stores 15min from Oslo the capital and 2hours from Sweden and about 1,5hour from the airport, our capital Oslo is just a ghetto full of immigrants and lots of junkies, drug dealers and what not, not a place to be or bring up kids or even a dog for that matter so i decide to live in my home town and not move to the capital like many of my friends(trendy to live in the capital )..Here i can walk my dog and not be afraid that he will get a junkie needle in his paws..If you did not now Oslo is the heroin death capital of the world.. Cheers, Dani I live in Oslo! But I agree :/ Im only studying in Oslo, Kristiansand is my hometown. Oslo downtown:
lanikai
I live in Oslo! But I agree :/ Im only studying in Oslo, Kristiansand is my hometown. Oslo downtown: "But for the Grace of God , there go I" This pic is heart wrenching and brings me to shed a tear.. I have had friends go "back" down this path after years of being clean, and not come back usually ending up OD'd.. good men and women Maybe some forget that it is grace and grace alone that keeps us on the straight path. by helping others .. we help ourselves. Imagine .. things could be this way for anyone of us.. a different set of parents.. tramatic experience as a youth... abuse.. I look upon these souls with empathy.. knowing it's never too late, but unless someone is willing.. to look upon anyone in this sitution with disgust is denying our own defects of character. "God help me understand the things I cannot change change the things I can and allow me the wisdom tho know the difference" Thank you rip.. I needed to be reminded..
