EnTaroAdun Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Hey guys, I wanted to pull the trigger on Homer's incredible Tourbillon in rose gold. However, I had to learn that it is no longer available (only in yellow gold and steel). Do you guys know another way to source the watch in the rose gold version? I am thinking about buying the yellow gold version but somehow I like rose gold on the watch more as it seems to me to look even more elegant. As the orginal manufacturer is Millionsmart, do you kow wheather one could directly from them? Thanks in advance, EnTaroAdun
Shundi Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 You could try to post a "Want to buy" (WTB) ad in the trade section and hope that someone is willing to sell theirs
emuozz Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 I think I just saw the rose gold one at eurotimez web page ---> tourbillon ---> new
EnTaroAdun Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Posted May 3, 2009 Thanks emuozz! I will get in contact with Eurotimez. Best, EnTaroAdun
mikellem Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Also I think you should check out http://www.tourbywatches.com/ He does great work.. MM
ironmarshal Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Good call on the rose gold. I've got that watch in rose gold with a white face and it's a killer watch. The strap and deployant clasp that comes with it are fairly cheap, but change those and you've got an unbelievable watch. I constantly get comments on mine around the office.

Where did you get replacement strap and deployant? can you share the links?
ironmarshal Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 I got the deployant from Bob Davis (advertises these over at Timezone....when I ordered mine he only had two rose gold left) at http://www.mywatchmaker.net/ As for the strap..you can choose your favorite high quality strap maker. I prefer Banda.com.
trailboss Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 You can't get it in rose gold anymore? WTF? This piece was made for RG. Col.
fotoman Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 the piece was commissioned by homer, so its unlikley that any are exactly alike, but, possible, its made by millionsmart. i recomend a strap from HK tan and a deployant from forum sponsor panatime, VERY reasonable prices and great pieces if you click on the tourby in my sig you will note there is a super thick maroonn coloored 5mm thick dress strap with matching stitch worth it at twice the price
ironmarshal Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 You can't get it in rose gold anymore? WTF? This piece was made for RG. Col. Agree. This watch was made for rose gold. I'm glad I snapped mine up before he quit offering it in that color. Sure looks a whole lot better to me than the yellow gold.
trailboss Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 I'm actualy quite disapointed. I realy wanted one of those but it's just not the same in yellow. Damn and bugger! Homer! Mate! Why? Col.
EnTaroAdun Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 Glad to see that I am not the only one who does seem to prefer the rose over the yellow :-) What dou you guys think in terms of a classic timepiece and fashion-wise: is rose also the better choice in this respect?
vikkyrob Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 I bought two rose gold with black dial tourbillons from Homer back in November (one for a good friend) and I have changed the strap to a Bob's Alligator and put on a 3717 rose gold buckle. I am now trying to remove the glass and send it off to be Chief AR'd. Does anyone know how to remove the bezel as it doesn't want to screw off and there doesn't seem to be any recesses for a bezel knife. The last thing I want to do is scratch off the rose gold!! Rob
Stiggie Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 yep I also wanted to buy the rose gold version.... it wasn't available anymore. So I decided not to buy it. could you please let me know the price of eurotimez when you know it. I don't think it comes with warranty.
Bossart Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I have the Rose Gold Jaeger LeCoultre Tourbillon and it has been superb. Good looker and excellent timekeeper. Can't fault it.
Samurai Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I have the Rose Gold Jaeger LeCoultre Tourbillon and it has been superb. Good looker and excellent timekeeper. Can't fault it. Post some pics mate
EnTaroAdun Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 Eurotimez does also only have the yellow gold version in stock. What a pitty :-( I am really disapointed. Is there any reason why they changed to yellow gold instead of rose? What do you think is more classy?
emuozz Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I dunno about class, cause that model looks classy (watever the material) nevertheless I have a soft spot for rose gold. Maybe you should wait if they made it again, IMHO you shouldn
EnTaroAdun Posted May 9, 2009 Author Report Posted May 9, 2009 I know that you are right, but also the yellow gold one is tempting :-) However, I will keep looking around before deciding what to do...
Shundi Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 White/ Black with the SS case also looks awesome- I've owned that watch in RG, YG, and SS and it looks great no matter what the material. The supplied deployant is garbage but the strap is actually very high quality (according to a good friend who manages a Tourneau). If you're friendly with a local AD, etc you can pop in and have them cut the strap and install a tang buckle- much, much better IMHO
fotoman Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 there is a benefit to the Gold version. The tourby cage is yellow gold, so on the rose gold, there is 2 types of gold. So, on the yellow gold - both the case and the tourby cage are yellow gold
EnTaroAdun Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 Hey guys, I have very good news! I spoke to Homer and he is ordering a new batch of rose gold watches!! It might take up to 2 months, however, but imho it is worth to wait. Just wanted to pass in the good news for the ones who are interested. Best
trailboss Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 That is good news. It just ain't the same watch in YG. Maybe with the white dial but the black needs rose IMO. Col.
