Ronin
China will copy anything. The replica Rolls Royce is branded "Riich" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/pictur...-Auto-2009.html
Dani
My take on this is. Chinese are good on simple things, copying is simple. They are many thats really China's only strong point.
asciwhite
The only thing about the cars they copy is that they HAVE to concentrate more on crash safety! And they cut some corners on the materials...
Logan
Everyone said that about Japan 20 - 30 years back.. the usual comments.. can't design anything.. only know how to copy. Back then it may have been a little true, but look at them today. China will be the same.

KB
I'm with Logan, it's a small step from copying an item to adding your own innovations. The problem with the cars featured here is that they lack (as previously pointed out) the safety standards we expect, but it wont be long before China wakes up to the very large market share they can have, if the produce their own cars that meet those standards and at a lot less than what we pay now.
