Logan Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 If anyone is a torrent expert please upload this for the benefit of us outside the US, and I guess anyone who doesn't get Discovery. Much appreciated.
Logan Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 Actually I found heaps or torrents of this show, does anyone know the current season number and the relevant episode number?
georgegrasser Posted June 13, 2009 Author Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) Actually I found heaps or torrents of this show, does anyone know the current season number and the relevant episode number? 6-6 and 6-8. FxrAndy Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 thanks George In also found lots of torrents but could not find those episodes
its_urabus Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 My son and I watch the show religiously. My wife hates it. Compares it to watching paint dry. I will try to record it if I remember.
gazumi Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 I saw it last night. Very interesting but it didn't strike me as having enough "handmade" components for a 6-figure watch. In fact, it looked easier than I thought. The Raymond Weil leather band, on the other hand, took much more effort than I thought.
ChipSlap Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 My son and I watch the show religiously. My wife hates it. Compares it to watching paint dry. Broads. Feh.
ChipSlap Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 I just finished watching the Blancpain segment. This was an interesting program. The automatic tourbillon watch they featured was really cool. It really jumps in 1080HD.
wheaton26 Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 i would have liked to have seen these episodes. i just checked my dvr and the discovery channel doesn't seem to be repeating them.

veja74 Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Haven't finished the downloads yet to check the integrity, but here you go... Episode 8 http://isohunt.com/download/100247009/how+its+made.torrent Episode 6 http://isohunt.com/download/99548401/how+its+made.torrent Can't wait to see it!
georgegrasser Posted June 16, 2009 Author Report Posted June 16, 2009 During the water pressure test, which I did not know by the way was used with actual water, what if it had leaked? I assume a little water, quicky dried causes no harm. Correct?
ChipSlap Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 During the water pressure test, which I did not know by the way was used with actual water, what if it had leaked? I assume a little water, quicky dried causes no harm. Correct? The Community will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they first overpressurize with air, then put it in water to see if the air leaks out.
rangers158 Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 Probably the chamber is lower pressure than the watch. Since inside of the watch is higher pressure than the chamber, the air will move out of the case into the chamber filled with water if there is a leak. Water will also not flow into the watch due to the presuure difference. Hence, movement remains dry.
georgegrasser Posted June 17, 2009 Author Report Posted June 17, 2009 Well thats good. Because I've never heard of a "factory second" fine swiss watch. Oh, and if anybody cares. which they don't. I received a lifetime ban from the library today. I had placed the library address on my business (type) card offering free chess lessons to kids 5-14. I thought that was a great idea me being a master and all. NOT!!!!!!!!!!

wheaton26 Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 i am very new to torrents ... but after a few downloads and some trial and error, i now have the files. thank you very much for bringing me up to speed with the latest technology and of course for the actual programs! all the best.
koolkul Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Watched the torrents last night very interesting - thank you for posting - it's appreciated. Kul
georgegrasser Posted June 18, 2009 Author Report Posted June 18, 2009 After watching the program, for the work that is put into them, I don't see how any watch can cost more than $5,000.
RickHiC Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Quick trivia for the lazy (me). Are the torrents in HD? My tivo caught the episodes, but they were only on the standard def channel, and not discovery HD.
veja74 Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Quick trivia for the lazy (me). Are the torrents in HD? My tivo caught the episodes, but they were only on the standard def channel, and not discovery HD. I have now watched them and they are definitely not HD. Watched on a 42" TV in my bedroom and resolution is good enough to see what is going on, but no HD material here. I am very impressed with the videos and will be keeping them in my library just for fun. Plus my kids get to see that daddy is not the only one who looks like he has collapsed at the table with a loupe stuck to his eye!
