wheaton26
well curiosity just got the better of me the other day. against my own will, i removed the case back of my genuine pam 091. i was surprised to see a gold ring around the inside, but even more surprising was the hand written markings! here's what is written (in marker) on the inside of my case back: X III 1533352 2-6 initially i assumed that the first # (X III) represented the movement but after some research, i found out that X III would actually represent a gmt model ... the 091 is an OP III calibre. i then thought that the second # (153352) might be a serial # ... but again after checking it out, that is not right either. finally, i may be correct with the third # (2-6). this watch was serviced prior to my purchase. i can only assume that 2-6 stands for february 2006? i posted this on paneristi and members commented that some watch makers initial their work. the numbers could represent their id # from the factory etc. it's pretty cool, if you think about it. a little personal touch direct from the factory that made it all happen in the first place! i just thought i'd share this with my fellow rwg'ers. maybe some of you have had similar experiences with your watches? here are a couple of poor pictures to help explain. p.s. the movement looks sweet! dadog13
i know that watchsmiths when they do repairs on the watch leave some markings...but this is definitely something else...i always tought that markings left by watchsmits are smaller....a lot smaller... Watchmeister
I suspect different AD's label differently. When I got a Breguet back from Breguet they had attached a classy sticker with the date on it. The next guy who serviced it and was an authorized repaired person commented on it. Who knows?
