  1. Well here is a good one. Opened my priority package today like a kid at Christmas. Well it took some time to find the prize never seen so much bubble wrap fit into a box! ( and I thought I packed well) Now what do I find this http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/156193-pam-326-titanium-daylight-as-new/ now mind you I was expecting a Rolex that I bought for quite a bit less, Hmm perplexed . Contact EMM and advise, there was a mix up it seems member tridad at RG was expecting this one and should have mine. Bounce over contact, watch is with him exchange info. Both will be on the way to there new homes priority courtesy of the seller. (who promptly PPed me 10 bucks to ship) Now this can happen and EMM was more than apologetic, and is a top shelf gentlemen. I post to show the way it should be done no theatrics no drama just fix it. So here is a group of guys dealing in counterfeit goods flawlessly fixing a mischance. Honor amongst thieves! PS Have only one one problem with this event that f**ken Pam is gorgeous now I must get one!!

  2. Only buy reps made in Italy. The best 1:1 quality reps are made there because it is so close to Switzerland and they can source the best gen like parts.

  16. No doubt that these guys as you labeled the BTD's are in collusion. There is no way that, if these watches had been modded like some of the folks on the VRF are alluding to that it wouldn't have come out. But you have two things working here, the dealers who are "upscaling' their watches, and the guys who are buying. If a "collector" buys a pristine 6538 and pays a big premium for it, but months later gets a little suspicious and is pretty sure that his watch has been enhanced, he isn't going to say a word. First off, if he screams foul, most of the others on the forum aren't going to believe him, and second, as soon as the word gets out that his 45K watch isn't as it seems, the price is going to plummet. So for his own good, he's not going to say anything. Who knows how many other folks are insiders in a deal like this. Everyone on the VRF wants the most pristine, perfect examples for their collection.it is not in their best interest to make a big deal about this, because if the heat gets too bad, the dealers who are supplying these 40+ year old factory fresh watches will simply disappear, or sell regular run of the mill watches like everyone else. What really aggravates me is what these "modders" are doing is exactly what we do here on this forum, making a good watch better. the big difference we are all up front and open about what we do, those guys are all shadow players, and everything they are doing is for financial gain, at the expense of their fellow Rolex collectors. It's absolutely heresy to sell a watch with an aftermarket insert, bracelet, crown or a refinished dial, but it's perfectly all right to laser weld a case to build it back up to original specs, or "touch up" the lume on a dial, as long as you are the right person, and everyone thinks that you are the worlds greatest procurer of Vintage Rolex watches. You want papers with your watch, no problem, i can make a punched paper, sales receipt, find a period box, booklets, etc, get you the whole set for lets say a 4k premium over a comperable watch W/O papers. Pretty good business!!

  21. As someone who can easily afford to purchase a gen (just about) anything, I am definitely in the camp of, one or two are just not enough. Since February I have purchased a number of reps, 3 Rolex, 1 Tag Carrera, 2 Omega Seamaster (en route), and I'm roughly $1500.00 in over about 6 months of the year. I wear them all and would not be happy with just the Submariner, I couldn't just have a Tag Carrera. I am fascinated by these watches but I simply do not have the means to own all of them in Genuine form, even if I could, these reps are so good that I just wouldn't. I don't pass my replicas off as Gens, even to people that would never, in a million years be able to tell the difference. Hell outside of the watch enthusiast community, almost no one could even spot a Carrera Day Date or Omega Seamaster as anything more than a Fossil chronograph or some generic desk diver from the department store. I wear my watches for me, whether I am watching "Unknown" and see Liam Neeson wearing a DSSD so I go grab mine to wear for the duration of the movie, or I am taking the dog for a walk and I press the mechanical pusher to start the sweeping second hand of my Chronograph to see just how long I am gone. These watches are not about status, they are about fascination, about a love for horology and a passion for classic mechanical machines that keep very accurate time. My boss scoffs at my replicas, his wife bought him a Quartz Aquaracer chronograph (he didn't know what the rotating bezel or the divers extension were for). At the same time, his jaw dropped at my 21j Grand Carrera RS2 (non functioning chronograph), How can you tell it isn't real? He says, Ha! He likes a nice watch because it gives him status while I spend hours just staring at my wrist and wearing 3 or 4 different watches in a day. I saw this on this forum somewhere and have hijacked it, I don't remember who had said it or where it originated from but... "When I look at my watch, the last thing I see is the time" I love this hobby Mike

  22. Perimeter is the wrist size ie 7", 6 1/2" etc in mm Wrist width is the actual width of your wrist The watch width is indeed the 12-6 measurment Here is the excel watch_size_formula.xls
