  1. I'll admit, I returned to my car in the parking lot one night after dinner to find a small ding in the driver's side door of my car. There was also some blue paint left with the ding. Low and behold, the car parked directly next to me had the same blue paint and their passenger door was lined up perfectly to the ding. I was livid. It was a small ding, but I simply hate people who are so self consumed that they care nothing for the property of other people. Without much thought, I cocked back and kicked the side of their door so hard it left a dent about a foot in diameter. I took a deep breath, got in my car and drove away. The instant vengeance felt so wonderful, warm and fulfilling.

  2. Started out awhile back with a spare Noob V3 case set. Got the dial and movement (having visited The Zigmeister for the Inca-bloc anti-shock mod) and case back from another member. J series hands from my parts box. I polished the bevels and teeth of the ratchet and crown wheels as well the edges of the bridge plates. Both wheel screws were flattened and polished too. With the cg, I shortened the lever tip a little, flattened both the lever and roller bearing pins. The lever pin was re-installed slightly recessed below flush. Last, the entire case was polished to a more gen-like finish. I'm not a big fan of sandwich dials, but this one is growing on me. I may actually keep it for a couple of more weeks Some pics from this afternoon... iPhone 4 and Camera+...

  3. Sorry but the fact that the topic went for 4 pages means that many people had an interest, but it is less about hanging either the buyer and seller in this thread out to dry and more about how in general rep transactions are handled and what are the general rep aftersales 'rules' (if any!). Both are good guys case closed, no issue there. Most sellers live by the 'once it leaves my hands then you own it' rule. No comebacks whatsoever, no responsibility for postal damage etc. For rep sales that is more than enough imho. The trouble is it it becoming pretty obvious that a seller almost needs friggen pics of the watch from all angles and a video showing the watch working at the time of packing to back them up should something happen later. Sign of the times I guess!

  5. It is a f**ken gimme steel, would not lose a minute of sleep over an 85 dollar watch that was flawed per Gen (branded Tao anyway). Could still have one or two after a 1000 dollar mod adventure.

  9. Other than the aforementioned crystal height and OffCert spacing (not exactly deal breakers IMO) the main issues for me have been QC-based - wonky dial markers, lumpy lume application, wonky pearl, loose Glidelock clasp etc. It seems the factory came up with a great design and couldn't be bothered to put it together properly. Having said that I still love mine, warts and all!

  12. Judging by some of the rep transactions that go on these days I think both of you communicated pretty well and just didn't see eye to eye this time on how best to resolve this one. Some of the communications that happen in other sales are downright awful atm, it's a bit of a minefield. This one at least ye both tried to get your point across and resolve it in PM. Lately in lots of cases buyers will just go straight to paypal dispute and on the flip side often times sellers won't even bother giving a dignified response if there is an issue. As you say put this one down to a learning experience amanamongmen. Stick around, I'm sure you'll have a better experience and some other not so good ones. Hike is a good guy really. Judging by some of the stuff that happens in rep transactions this situation is pretty minor.

  13. Thanks everyone again for all of the input. i am glad plenty saw it objectively and threw my point of view. A small refund obviously isnt going to happen but thats fine. Ask for better pictures lesson learned. And you can tell how is mood changed quickly and has stayed that way even in his post on this thread. Obviously this wont be resolved in any way as HIke has stated
