  1. this is for a build i'm putting together at the moment, it started out as a finished River dial, I'm not re luming this one, just ageing what's there. Here's it is fitted, I've not polished this case much, I gave it some abuse then buffed it down. (please excuse the dust under the plexi, I'm just checking everything's running fine, I'll be giving it a proper clean. ) Then I moved on to an Athaya RP dial started with this then.........built up in to this cracked indices - crappy iphone pic Here are some 'proper' photographs, not sure if it's too red though now. a quick and dirty iphone lume shot, courtesy of Cornholio's vintage mix and a close up of the cracked indices

  2. NYC friendly quick reasonably Priced rep repair I KNOW WE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO LIKE OUR a7750's or double ARd crystals. I finally found the smart watch smith who has to realize that those of us who purchase reps spend twice the amount servicing and modding or watches. Than gen customers. When I buy a 40k DayDate Presidential I'm not changing anything! Also i hate buying a watch and waiting the long amount of time to then to everything else I want done. I work a couple blocks from the diamond district where 90% of NYCs fine watches are sold and or serviced. After getting looks of disgust over 30 times no joke trying to get My cheap asian watch serviced, for fear they would break it or its illegalFor me to Touch that I kept looking and after buying a couple gens and becoming friendly with some Of the guys their i started bringing my Reps to one shop broken up In two stands. It's 2 brothers and 1 is an AD for many high end brands in the front and sells watches and one does repairs in the back.. I found that I could get gen crystals installed for about the same or less Than sending it away and waiting for it to still be a rep crystal with two coats of anti reflective coating. Same thing with movements, parts, you name It. Tell them what you want.. ie, you can ask for an OEM omega insert or aftermarket one, a dg4813 movement installed after a 21j dies, servicing all movements at very reasonable prices, tell them what you want and what u want to Spend and if they dont have it they can order the parts for you very quickly. Sometimes that means calling two shops down You can bring the parts to them and tell them what you want. They have learned to deal with me as we happen to be a picky bunch and have had them Do the same thing 3 times til they got it right . I must have gone 10 Times since I first got the ok and it hasn't been that long. I'm not sure they want the attention of their name On the board but any native Nyers or those who want to take a Trip to NYC to do some Watch work on their rep feel free to pm me. I have nothing to do with them And don't get referral fees or anything like that I was just sick of hunting down non existent watch smiths From 3 year old Posts. I love dropping my watch off in the morning before work and picking it up after or next day. So Far I've had movement swaps, broken 7750s serviced to working smooth again, almost every other movement serviced, replaced bezels, inserts, dials, gaskets, springs, and crystals installed some OEM some not and all my watches polished, I usually bring multiple watches at once to get a deal as their Machine makes the bands look new, they sometimes forget to do the watch itself so make sure to tell them What you want and they all so far look New again.

  3. Hello fellow RWG members the Diamonds are running a benefit for RWG. The following watch will go around the world from member to member with pics and stories being modded ,serviced & given upgrades along the way. At the end of this world wide tour it will be raffled off and the proceeds given to the board. In addition we raffle of another watch each time it changes hands to benefit the board. Specs as it is now: 5512, 2836 ETA, this is TT's 'ultimate 1:1 vintage version. No pics did not happen! So now some of my legendary bad pics. As you can see I am working on the deck power washing off old paint so sorry for crappy back drop. Others are great photographers in the group so I m sure you will see better ones! I have added a brand new Nato as seen, bracelets are to small for me anyway even at full link plus micro adj.

  4. Hey guys, this is a repost from other forums. Since some may not frequent the other forums I thought some here may gain some use from these photos: Hello everyone! I just got this watch from Sead, and wanted to share some photos with you. Sead did a great job finding me a clean watch with perfect marker alignment and dial. First off I didn't think i'd love this watch as much as I do. I was kind of like i'll give it a shot, looks to be pretty accurate. What impresses me is the feel of quality when you've got it in your hands. The texture on the dial, the crispness of the dial numbers, the even lume application. Really more than I expected. Per my conversation with Sead, these are not Noob factory. This is another maker (which has made some less nice watches in the past). This is by far their best showing. These two shots are just an overview of the watch. Not too busy with nice date triangle accent, which gets me thinking about old school altimeters: This next is just a straight shot of the dial with indirect lighting. Gives you a good idea of the strength of the AR which is very strong with a light blue hue. It looks very very close to the gen which I handled this weekend (in anticipation of getting this watch): The font on the dial is nice and sharp: One of my favorite aspects of this watch is the dial texture. It's not pure black, it's textured. It's certainly not gray, but it somehow shimmers in the light. This is uncannily like the gen watch. Really impressed with this dial: The date cut out is extremely sharp with a nice two step ledge down to the date wheel overlay. Great attention to detail and very clean edges: Finally here's an obligatory wrist shot. I have a 7.5 inch wrist. This is taken a bit wide obviously, but it sits very nicely on my wrist. Not too big and not too small! One thing I do feel is very very weak on this watch is the strap. It's atrocious. Will get a rivet pilot style strap and see how it looks. Thanks for looking at these photos, really enjoying this watch!

  5. So after seeing all these awesome GMTs that RA has built, I decided to have one commissioned for myself. Not all that complicated on the sourcing end, just a watch and bezel assembly. RA sourced me the jubilee, as well as changed the crystal. Overall, RA is great to work with, and the fact that he can get these results from a Josh 1675 are nothing short of awesome. So here are the pictures:) If you like vintage GMTs, then RA is your guy. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

  9. From a legal point of view what actual proof do they have? Your watch was allegly a fake according to a watchmaker and you decided to pull it out. The elements they have are nothing. They want to scare you! Sending them the watch is the last thing to do.

  12. Think it through: if you have no money, why would they bother suing you? They're fishing, that's all.
