  6. I didn't realize the tiger case had gen style bezel/crystal construction. I may have to get one of these. The HR dial is 29mm but there's plenty of room for shaving. I shaved 1.2mm off mine to get it to fit on my modified case. I still have to shave the rehaut a bit because the HR seconds hand is a tad long.

  9. Is the 'Tiger' case a gen style mount of the crystal and bezel retainer? Mine from a couple of years ago was the 'cartel' style with a groove for the crystal that had to be glued in. Is that a new design? I took the coin edge bezel and mounted on one of those rubber sanding drums for a drill. Spun it a few times to get it seated straight, and using my drill press, used emery cloth mounted on a popsicle stick and slightly beveled the edges, top and bottom. You can sorta see it in the pic. The GMT is more beveled than the Submariner.

  10. Hi there and welcome to RWG. Hope you stay a while! Sometimes the search function doesn't work well but yes definitely read the stickies and do some research. Usually people don't post where to get the best (whatever), as there are many TDs who all get the same watches. Also there is a new website http://pamguide.info that might be useful to you. And member ALE7575 is the PAM expert and he has a great comprehensive guide but I think it's on RWI and RG. Cheers

  13. Well said. The old butterfly 1030 movements are beautiful, but I hate to risk breaking them anymore with rough use. An ETA is tough as nails and you can buy them for a song. It's a win/win.

  16. Thank you. The watch above is an ongoing build of mine. The reference is model 530, which is a 1940's piece. Dial and hour/minute hands are genuine PPCo; strap is current production Patek (Camille Fournet) and the buckle is a period correct steel buckle. Movement s currently just a run of the mill Valjoux 23, which will be converted to 13-130 specs. Steel case is custom made. This is a companion to my other build... A ref 570 in steel, also from the 40s:

  17. Wow, that looks great! I love it on the NATO. People around here do great work vintagizing, but I'm also a fan of the modern look. After all, that's what Sean Connery saw when he looked at his wrist

  24. Hi! So, welcome aboard. 1. This isn't the noob version but it's still a pretty decent version. I would recommend reading this thread: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/158918-crpo-45-mm-titanium-review-with-pics/ While this model does have inconsistencies with the gen, it's still a nice rep. Look on the last page of the thread for it on a rubber strap. The noob ones have been shown around with teasers but I've been hearing that they will be released for a long time now. Trusty Time is a good TD and good luck with the pearl, it's one of the things none of the reps can get right (with the exception of a couple of SMPs and the Noob LMPO). I can't comment on the box but I do believe the leather ones are included with the purchase and the wooden ones are given when your watch comes back from service (or if the AD likes you The correct term should be Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.50 mm Titanium Liquidmetal® with the gen Calibre 8500. Yeah. That's a crazy long name. Here is the press release if you want to hear all of the gen specifics: http://www.omegawatches.com/press/press-kit-text/2372 Gen Pics: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/first-omega-planet-ocean-8500-liquid-metal-titanium-811134.html Let me know if you have any other questions!
