  5. I changed my John Dillinger avatar to the time machine. It occurred to me that there was another one out there , and sure enough, long time member Offshore has the same one. So, out of deference to Offshore I switched it to Amanda kissing the Sphinx. Why did kissing the sphincter just pop into my noggin?

  6. Jack there is always a way post your hunger into the wtb section and offer enough cash and I am sure somebody will sell his absolute super best v2/v3 combo If you want to have my advice go with the recent tc bracelet and you will be more than happy since it's a very good bracelet. I own the latest tc bracelet and the gen one and I have to say the the recent one is excellent but please keep in mind gen is gen and rep will never be exact the same! So if you want a prrfect bracelet search trf for a gen one but I certainly advice you not to do so unless the watch you need it for is gen. Probably v2/v3 combo is better in some aspects the recent bracelet has the better coronet on the clasp. So you will never get a perfect rep bracelet but for sure a very very close one and worth every penny! good luck

  9. Sorry, no pics at the moment. Maybe I take some. For me the strap looks great, but I got a black one, the green wasn't available at the time I ordered. Shipping was from france and it was fast. Yes, I got mine from rolojack, yes it is very different from the straps that came from the TDs as "standard strap". Rolojack got this strap from a manufacturer in china, it has IWC signs and so it is no real aftermarket strap. If you are looking for some fantastic aftermarket straps: I also got some straps from HKTan and from Jacob, both are "strap artists" IMHO and their work is brilliant. Not cheap and long waiting lists, but worth every euro and day of waiting!

  12. The best? Might want to narrow that down a bit. Means different things to different people. Not to mention there are hundreds of DJ and DD options available. It's a bit like saying I want to buy the best car. Are you looking for the best out of the box, without doing any mods, or a franken with mostly genuine parts? If it's the latter, and you don't want to go to mymanmatt, then you'll have to collect the parts yourself and build it, or send it to an EU watchmaker for assembly. DateJusts are pretty easy to find gen parts for. It's probably the best starter franken you can build. If you just want something good enough out of the box, then Sead had some pretty good DateJust offerings recently with ETA (stated) movements. He can ship from the UK, so that' s probably your best bet. The DayDate's are a bit trickier to build frankens of, but I'm sure Sead could probably find you a good out of the box rep of one of those too. Just contact him and tell him what you are looking for.

  13. I agree with Legend 100%. You guys are all new, and we welcome you to the forum. You can learn a great deal about watches in general and reps in particular if you hang around here, and read and research the watches you are interested in. Please don't get too wrapped up in the hype about 1:1. there just isn't any such animal in the rep world. There are some really good reps, and some really awful reps, you just have to dig out the information and decide which is which. Some reps by their construction, popularity and parts availability are fairly easy to get close to perfect, notice I said close, because none of them are ever going to be perfect, unless you buy enough genuine parts to build a complete watch!! Some reps because of their construction are almost impossible to make much better. Some can be improved, by better lume, better AR on the crystal, possibly a better movement, but generally to get any watch as close to the genuine as possible requires the substitution of rep parts with genuine parts. things like crystals, dials, hands, movements, crowns, pushers, etc. are what take reps to the next level, and even those while close are not 1:1..

  15. So here it is, everyone ... I'm proud to present this build. The parts were sourced and primarily assembled by highoeyazmuhudee then the watch went off to The Zigmeister for a full service/regulation, re-lume, full re-polish and re-brush and waterproofing. As a little background, I was inspired by member Ronin's rail dial 1665 Great White. It was a forum icon. He had sold it, and it was converted by it's new owner to a more vintage coffee colored dial. This event spurred me on to try and re-create Ronin's original watch in it's original white coloration. I suppose it's mad to spend .. uh .. a lot of money for no other reason but principle, but .. ok I have no excuse It is an MBW/MBK 1665 case set (re-shaped/drilled by highoey) with: - Clark hands - Yuki pearl - Yuki tube - Gen insert (love the very mild weathering!!) - Gen crown - generic 2mm spring bars - rare "FxrAndy" brushed silver datewheel w/ flat top 3 and open 6/9 - vintage ETA 2846 (low beat) - inGod 1665 White dial - PureTime vintage bracelet normally shipped on their "Best" Rolex 1680 Sub w/ those square "punch marks" to retain the dive clasp - Clark SuperDome crystal I'd like to thank highhoey for getting this project off the ground, and Zig for making it truly exceptional. See how the brushed metal dw looks silver in some light, and graphite in other light

  16. The BigCrown crystal fits the ceramic noob mariner case. As the rep isn't gen construction, I'm not sure on the gen x-tal fit here. The latter works well for the 16610 subs (with gen construction), but for the ceramics??

  17. Since the launch of the larger Dayjust and Daydate , 41 mm. I have bought 8 different models. This is the one I like more these days. It has a black/green MOP dial and larger stick markers. It's like a milgauss. The crsytal is very very nice, saphire, and the whole watch it's very well executed. Bought at Watcheden, 138$.
