  1. I am too poor to comment in this thread. *D'oh!*

  2. The never ending story but I'll cut it short for you: - case and caseback from a gen 162xx Rolex heavily modified by Akira (thanks F!), based upon a precise outline of LHOOQ's (thanks M!) gen 1016. - bezel from Jmb (who else?) *thanks J!*. - gen Superdome. - gen dial (thanks Denimhead!). - gen 2824-2 - gen tube and crown. - TC's legendary submariner hands (thanks T!). I've been trying to fit a set of gen hands on this but the cannon pinion is too big, I wish I could source a gen 1520/30 but I'm told that it won't fit inside the 162xx case. Not a big deal but you know... I guess this is as far gen as I can go with this here build, but I'm far from done trying to achieve the perfect 1016....

  3. Hi guys, my first post so welcome everyone! Please let me know if you agree that 1 in 12 is a little bit not in order or is it just me? Any other comments about this watch? i.imgur.com/5Qmlarn.jpg i.imgur.com/2ZGrUxK.jpg thanks!

  4. The engravings are meaningless, and often have no bearing on the end pieces they're supposed to be replicating. I'm very curious about the $55 7206, though, as I'm not sure if I've ever seen one. For that selfish reason alone, I say you should go for it!

  5. Finally got my watches back from the bank safe. So I am changing almost every day ;-) Today this is my choice. Probably one the cheapest in my collection but on the wrist it doesn't feel cheap at all !!! And what beats inside this one ? HaHa

  9. There are a bunch. The chronograph with the three dates showing and a bunch of sevens in the number (3777?) seems quite good.

  10. My first Omega...this is a little vintage fix while the others are being built. I think I like it. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

  14. FINALLY found this watch, after much trial and error. Ordered it from many dealers, both trusted and non trusted and they all would tell me they had it in stock but then right before shipping it out tell me they didn't, and in 2 cases (non trusted dealers) sent me the wrong watch. Finally saw that Perfect Clones had it, (which I don't think they did when this post was created) and ordered it. Josh was super nice and fast and answered all my questions. Sent it out fast but it spent almost 2 weeks in US customs. It is as accurate to the original as I need it to be, considering I was very close to just buying a Tiger homage. Think I'm going to wear it as is for a year or 2 before aging it. Also, they say the bezel is unidirectional but it's not, moves both ways like the original. I am a bigger Bond fan than a watch fan but I've learned a ton about watches and reps from the help of this site. Now that I have this and the Skyfall Seamaster, I aim on having a watch worn by each Bond actor. http://www.p-cls.com/rlsv10029-vintage-james-bond-6205-ssnato-a2836-p-9099.html

  15. That's how I did the hands on my 6204. The rep silver hands are lightly plated brass. The sanding gives that gilt look. I used 1500 grit. It takes just a few swipes. Make certain to go in one direction, one swipe at a time. Nice and easy, I hold the hand using a toothpick in the pinion hole. Sanding back and forth can catch the pointy end of the hand and bend it back. I learned that real fast.

  16. That looks great! My hands were shiny like that too when I got them, not very gilt looking so I used three sheets of sandpaper 400, 800, and then 2000. Literally just a few strokes with the hand down on the paper in the same direction lengthwise with 400, and then switch to 800 and 2000 to finish it off. It creates a gilt appearance, and of course they are way less shiny afterwards. This is the result

  17. The Rafflestime case is the 'Tiger' case. Ken is sure to have a dial to fit it, and his crown/tube surely will fit as well. I made my own dial for the 6204, and the 6mm Brevet '+' crown/tube is from Rafflestime. The crown needs some shaping http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/140709-6mm-brevet-crown/?hl=%2B6mm+%2Bbrevet#entry1046879, but is great for the price.
