  2. Well, ladies and gentlemen, it's now been four years to the day that I found this wonderful forum. Words can't express my gratitude enough to all the members who have helped me along the way. I've learned so much, not only about watches, but also about friendship and generosity. There isn't a better group of people on any forum on the whole world wide web. In the immortal words of Andrew Gold: ps - it's also my 1000th post!

  3. Just realized earlier today that I had passed 1000 posts, so thought I'd take the opportunity to celebrate that retroactively and also to say thanks to you all for having me here! My story about getting here resembles that of many others I think... Back in 2011 I scanned the web for a good deal on a (gen) IWC Portu. This in turn led me onto sites like "swisswatches", "pureswiss" etc. Here I started reading up on A vs A++ replicas, as well as learning about how replica watches made in Switzerland were in comparison to the Japanese. Luckily, before doing anything stupid, I also found this place! This great place, which I now have considered my rep home since 2011 - although I frequent most forums to varying degree. The pre-v Panerai interest led me onwards to WC, following interest in yet 60 years older Pams led to my second home HF - and in parallell I just loved reading about all the fantastic vintage Rolex builds here on RWG and started hoarding parts. As threads are worthless without pics, I chose to bring out my collection and take some pictures to share today. Thank you everyone for all the knowledge and good spirit that you share here - and thanks for having me here for 1244 days so far! The 6541 Milgauss: The 1675 GMT: The non-oyster 6263 PN: The pre-comex 5514: The non-cyclops 1680: The gilt 1016: And yes - I did get that Portu also btw, after various rounds with Texski, Hugo and Concepta...

  6. Thank you! Yes, do check out the IWC 3714 series. Very versatile depending on what strap you choose - from casual on say a leather nato to very dressy on a gen croc.

  10. With the horrors of Black Friday behind us, let us make preparations for the forthcoming giving of thanks by wearing our watches. Like this Blancpain here:

  11. Have anyone compared the IWC reps to gen in person? $300 seems a lot for a rep.

  15. Hayden, in the absence of either a set of case wrenches or a rubber sticky ball you can use the famous "Duck tape method". take about a 30" piece of typical duck tape & wind it into a ball sticky side out. You'll end up w/ a wad bigger than than a golf ball, much smaller than a hard ball.Case threads are standard issue: right to tighten & left to loosen. Press your new ball hard against the case back & turn firmly, you'll be surprised as the ball w/ turn along w/ the case back....Good luck,it'll work just as described! best, mcotter

  16. I will be able to ship the datewheels this weekend - beginning next week. They will get shipped with tracking number. International shipping is $10.60 Price per datewheel is $51 If you want one, be fast, not many pieces were ordered. These should fit the 15300 as well. I tried to install it on the LWO yesterday, in the meanwhile I painted my datewindow as well... The cyclops looks a bit yellowish, it's not the correct cyclops. It looks great when direct light hits the DW.
