  3. Well, it had to happen at some point: one of my watches being noticed and even commented on. Usually most people are blind to what's on your wrist. Well, not today.......... I'm in the process of trying to change jobs. I had an interview arranged for this afternoon, with the MD of a company who were looking to create a new position - and my CV fitted very well. I walked in, took a seat when invited and started with the chit-chat. Very quickly I noticed that the interviewer was wearing what looked like a SD Pro Hunter. Oh no, I'm wearing a rep Pam, hope he doesn't notice I thought, and within a second he mentioned my watch. A polite thank you, I'm a collector too, let's talk watches next time if that's okay with you and we moved on to the business in hand. Not sure what impressed him the most, but I've been invited back to meet the board next week.

  11. Got to say my man, you are doing it right! You will have a big crown build that will be right up there with the "big boys" everything looks great, and I like your approach. Too many folks start out on these with a haphazard plan, mostly hope!! As you know from your business background, hoping and wishing are NOT a business plan! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  16. Case, dial, bezel etc. seem fine. If my memory serves me right that A in stainless was changed from flat to the design you can see on your watch around the late 70s. I don't know when they changed from "Registered Design" to "Original Rolex Design" though. I always thought that this was an early 80s thing, so your 6 million serial seems fine. I'd insist on a movement shot, no way of telling if that one is gen without having a look at it. I doubt that it isn't though since everything else seems to be original. Edit: I don't think the hands are service replacements, lume seems to match the dial plots. Crown is an early 703. Gen 80s Daytona imo. Don't overpay, apart from everything you read on the net, there are plenty of these around.

  18. just got the chance to drive this 1981 beauty yesterday! And boy, what FUUUUUUN! A car like it ought to be....no gimmiks, no [censored], just 200hp and which you can listen to every second! Original color, nothing done since 1981, absolute original state! ( and yes, i've never drove a Porsche before!)

  19. For me definitely a F40 or 959. Love the Gt40 and also some of the rare cars mentioned on this thread. Shelby Daytona or an Aston DB5. Even the old sl300 gullwing. I'm more into my cars than my watches and have had some interesting cars so far. The most fun was a Caterham fireblade since then it went a little down hill for me Honda Civic Type R, Honda S2000 but for the last year or so I've been taking care of this And I love it. Looking to give it the 993 rs treatment soon. When looking for a new car I started off wanting an aston v8 vantage, then worked my way through the maserati 4200gt and gransport and finally settled on the above. One of my dream cars and the misses was great about it. However told her that I fancy a ferrarai f355 next and she wasn't so impressed.

  20. Guys What about Old School as attached? The GT40 needs no introduction! This was me driving the Prince of Denmark around in a Charity event in Denmark for the Red Cross. The event raised nearly $500k (some good footage on Youtube) The White Lightweight E Type we rebuilt from scratch and won every European Classic. This is me leading the 2008 Spa 6 hour event surrounded by no less than 6 GT 40's and Cobras! The Field was over 100 cars. The last is my Old Aston Martin DB4 Lightweight, 450 bhp in 1000 kgs. This car allowed me to win the Aston Martin Championship in 2003, ten years ago! as they say, it flies when you're having fun. There's some good footage on Youtube of another Aston I raced whish is the sister car to the Muncher that raced at Le Mans in 1977 and 1979 if anyone wants a link. This beast had 650bhp in 1250kgs Best regards Astonjenks (now you know where my name came from)
