  2. That is a beautiful watch, probably in the top three that I have seen in all these years on the forum. What is also rewarding is to see a fellow watch lover come on here, and really grow, flourish and become a real knowledgable contributor. Top notch projects are not for the faint of heart, and are often fraught with setbacks, but boy, when you finally get it together, you really have something to be proud of. I used to tell my kids when they were growing up, "The trail to the top of the mountain is always steep and rocky. There are many side trails that are easy, but they go nowhere.take the steep, hard, rocky trail, because when you get to the top you can't beat the view" My friend, you are on the top of the mountain looking down at all of us!!

  4. Friends, I want to share with you my happiness! Today I received my reply from Angus 569. Pictures are not properly convey the beauty and charisma of this watch. I can say with confidence: the clock from the first minute became my favorite. They make a great, all the details very precisely executed.

  5. So I just replaced the only aftermarket part left on my 1675; the crystal retaining ring. Before I put it on, thought I'd take a couple of comparison photos for those that care. Other than not fitting the bezel quite right, there some minor details that can help you with identifying a rep from the real thing. Tough to tell just by looking at it quickly: But under a loupe, the rep (on the right) is milled with slightly larger grooves. The gen on the left, is milled much finer and reflects light in a rainbow hue at certain angles: The underside of the gen is slightly beveled/chamfered where the rep is not: Now that it's installed, I feel much better now! 10. Also may want to mention Ssteel, great guy and a great watchsmith. He is here on RWG. He is not taking new work at the present, but I would send him a PM and discuss his future schedule. He is from the UK, lives in Finland. Also Domi in Germany, great work, but he is really busy and may have a backlog of a couple of months. He is absolutely the "Go to" guy for building high dollar AP Frankens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Hey! That looks familiar! Since you and I first met when I worked on your 5513, you have been nothing but patient and understanding. With any high end project that starts from the ground up, things just don't go smoothly. Something always comes up that further delays the project. While frustrating, overcoming these challenges/obstacles is an opportunity to learn something new. An example was my need to experiment with no less that 40 mixtures of substances to come up with the appropriate texture and color of the no-glow lume to match that of the dial. Not an easy task. For anyone considering builds like this, you should be prepared that there will be hiccups, and your budget for the build may increase beyond what you might think is reasonable. Hopefully in the end, it's worth it. So leave a buffer. It has been a pleasure working with you and I consider you a dear friend. Wear her in good health. We expect a nice wrist shot at the SeaHawks season opener!

  15. You know what hurts the most in all this drama? Guys who were once quite good friends online, exchanging many pm's talking about life, and things in life we related to etc, only to find out they too are joining the ranks of the trolls that throw mud. Just learnt a good friend stateside has succumb to believing all the crap that has been said about me, and is now even preaching to others about my bad ways etc. That hurts the most, especially when you once held them in high regard
