  4. dtm- It's funny how things work. Sometimes it can take years to find one's way and sometimes folks get it in relatively shorter terms. And it's also interesting to see how so many of us have been drawn to the hobby by... Rolex. I firmly believe that reps are a gateway to gens (if a rep is one's first step into the watch world), or in the case of starting with gens and going to reps as many of us have also done, I am sure we find time to dabble in gens still Many of us also end up venturing off to other brands to explore as well; variety is nice! But in the end, I think one certain Rolex personality had stated it best in an article he wrote in that people usually end up coming back to Rolex. One thing is for sure- Love them or hate them, Rolex is the powerhaus in the world of horology.

  6. Ooops... Almost passed over this question. Do you mean this pair? The time had come and they went to new homes converting a couple of die hard Panerai guys!

  8. They write that it's a gilt dial...it is not. It's pad printed with gold ink. Plus some of the lume markers have WG surrounds. Hands are great though. But where are the lugholes?

  9. I would do a Google search for 1016 dials and see if anything looks good to you. Then send the picture off to whomever you decide to let do the work and tell them to match it. That's what I did with PBdad on mine, and with Cwazy on my 5514 dial. Both guys nailed it.

  12. Hi, thank you for your response. I have sent emails with no response and clearly as you stated you haven't been able to personally attend this issue so a message to you directly is irrelevant as in the past I have pm messaged you with weeks in between responses. I do not want to wait weeks to be told to wait a month for free shipping and repair. That puts me at risk for receiving the same issues. I understand the package leaves your hand and no longer is your responsibility but what I don't understand is the after sale handling. I get no responses to my email and I'm not happy writing posts like this but put your self in the consumers shoes. Would you appreciate having to wait several days to weeks for a response only to be told to wait possibly months for repairs that don't guarantee anything on these replicas? I am having to pay a watch maker locally to now do all of these repairs and I've had to source a dial else where for the date just II. my issue comes from communication not the problems at hand which could have been solved by a quick response. As a long time standing member to another I do apologize for the frustrating public post how ever I do feel it was necessary due to my experiences

  14. Mass production would be better to pull off a rep. I mean, if there's only one, what are the odds of ever seeing it in the wild. Yet, if it's repped, you might end up with 10 at one table in Hoboken with a bunch of us at a GTG!

  19. M, I can sleep easy now that this dial has been protected by a case! It turned out fantastic, but I agree with woof about the bracelet. Do you think our two DJs might be cousins?
