  1. Today after a few weeks of patiently waiting my AP LBJ has arrived back modded under the careful and meticulous eye and mamagemnet of none other than our resident AP expert Legend (Master of all things AP related) and wow, this is one simply amazing watch that has such a presence and looks how the new strap sits/fits and looks. A huge thankyou Legend my friend for the brilliant work (please feel free to add a full list) as I cannot remember all that you've done. All I can say is I am thrilled, totally thrilled Regards AJ

  2. Sorry to hear this AJ. We all know you as a stand up guy and you have been more than patient. At some point you have to set a boundary which you have done. If he does not respond the community certainly needs to know the details to avoid further issues. Good luck.

  3. I hate hearing stories like this, especially when it involves real gentlemen such as yourself. Tough situation pal. Making this post and giving him one last chance before posting his name is an example of the generosity that those who have had dealings with you experience. I guess as a start, if someone was to purchase on credit in the future, the item should not be shipped until all payments are made. Personally, I would not be comfortable asking someone to send me anything if I have not made final payment. To be honest, I live by the adage that if I can't afford something on my own, then I don't need it. I hope that this all works out and that we don't need to learn this fellow's name. But if we do, then you have made a great public service to this community. Good luck AJ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Oh man. Sorry to read this. Yes, we've all been there at some point, but if you know things are tight then you shouldn't buy a watch during that time. Sort things out, get yourself caught up, and then buy a watch once your head is above water again. You went above and beyond to help a brother out, and I raise my glass to you. For that person to take advantage of your generosity is not ok. He should have been in constant contact with you. Hell, maybe he could have worked out additional regular installments if he had just asked and been in communication with you the whole time. That's the problem. People are embarrassed and they wait until the end, after it is too late, instead of opening a dialog at the beginning or even during the decline. I hope this gets resolved amicably and that everyone can save face and remain cordial.

  7. This is a very special piece, completely custom and one of a kind. My three year old got ahold of the 5513 while I was cleaning about the house, and brought it back to me saying "Dada look at this! look at this!" and my heart leapt into my throat before he handed me this magical creation.

  8. OK, I 'm sure that's what he meant, the insert. I've seen a few pretty good deals on watches over the years, not as quite as good as this one, usually it involves a messy divorce and the seller wants a non public fast sale. Called "hiding assets"!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. I believe that the newer noob V2 is probably the best out there now. it also has the advantage of accepting genuine parts, so when you buy it and then go crazy like a lot of us, you can mod it to your hearts (And wallet) content. If no modding, it's pretty nice out the box. Biggest tell of course is the Incorrect hand stack. I don't believe that any of the dealers are still selling the correct hand stack movement, but I could be wrong. like I said, if you want to mod it, you can turn it into and almost genuine watch with a gen dial, gen bezel/insert, gen crystal, yuki 3135 movement converted to a GMT, gen hands and Date wheel top it off and you will have a GMT that will fool anyone. al of that comes at a pretty steep cost though.

  10. 4 quick tells on rep (left): 1.) GMT hand thickness 2.) "9" calendar wheel is not centered 3.) Bezel fonts 4.) Endlinks You would probably fail the "Sushi Bar" test if you sat next to me. That is my yardstick for Rep -vs- Super -vs- Franken -vs Gen spotting... I also have 20/15 vision so that helps. :-)
