  2. I looked for some threads on the subject but couldn't find any. Anyway, the service would address a couple of areas. First, it allows a try before buy which is a small thing but kind of useful. Secondly, the service would allow you try wear a different watch every 2, 3, or 4 months depending on the plan which I like but maybe others would not. Third, it does allow the subscriber to be able to wear new watches every year as the inventory would be refreshed. Totally agree so that is why this service is attractive. I would disregard the monthly numbers as they are just a guide. But basically if you paid $150 per month that is $1,800 per year. it would take many years to save up to buy a expensive genuine watch. I think you could equate the same concept to leasing\buying a car. You don't want to tie up your money on a sset that will depreciate over time. If you lease you can get a new car every two years. In this model you can get a new watch every 2, 3, or 4 months if you like. Anyway, I appreciate you commenting.

  7. This is a reason why you should always ask a seller to send you a pic of the watch set to a specific time (e.g. 4:38 ) with the current front page of a newspaper.

  13. Thats way off, looks like its actually come away from the dial. I can help you with this seeing as you are in EU, you would be looking at just €10 euros, plus return tracked shipping. Drop me a pm if interested.

  15. what i ALWAYS use to separate the retaining ring from the case is this snap back watch case opener AND a watch makers hammer tape around the case as much as possible using electrical tape, turn the case on its side, insert the sharp edge of the opener between the ring and the case and gently tap with the small hammer, work your way around the case and it comes off, unwarped and no case damage as long as you tape it up a bit. to press crystals this is my preferred method. cheap and very effective 1 1/2" polyester adapter from home depot with a flat nylon disc in a taped up bench vise, turn slowly and press, keep it straight. just make sure the crystal isnt too tight for the case beforehand, or it will crack and you may not even notice

  17. As I don't have any other possible bond watch I'll go with the presumed literary bond watch:

  19. Easy is relative... Also, anything is possible but might cost more in the long-run than using the tight part to begin with. You would need to make a thick dial spacer to set the 2824 down from the dial so the stem would then be in the middle of the tube. Oh, geeze, now there's nothing sticking up through the dial to press hands onto so you need a cannon pinion, hour wheel, and second wheel with the associated labor to swap the parts over. Not worth it in my book...

  20. Most likely. The same movement spacer should fit the ETA movement as they are the same diameter.

  21. It's gonna have to go to dbane to get a bevel like that! If you get the Cartel watch you will have a movement spacer. For all practical purposes if you start with an A2836 Cartel 5512/13 all you need to do is massage the CGs a bit, drill lugs, get the back engraved, and do a dial/hand swap.
