  3. OK ! So if you are not so interested to install a yuki 3135 or gen parts like dial later, change for an asian ETA, you won't regret it ! The V6s HULK from Noob is a great watch, but be careful when you check the QC, i know that sometimes you can have a v5 bracelet with the wrong end link (longer between the lugs !) You will have to look at the bezel also and to check if the pearl is the last version, thinner than the old one if i remember well. That's all i think

  4. I never had a problem with Andrew since i am in the rep game The fact that the sa3135 is not a good option is real, better go for an asian eta ! So you bought a BP factory, or a Noob one ? The SA3135 is not very reliable from what i read here and there...Can you change for an asian ETA ?

  5. There is a special feel to this little community. I have developed a great deal of faith in the decency of the regular posters, yourself included Micky. Unfortunately the world is mostly not like that and many people see a degree of deception as acceptable. I am quietly looking out for a birth year 5513, I'm not in a rush but seriously intend to buy one. Even on the webpages of well known dealers I see adverts which wax on about the condition of the dial, without ever actually disclosing that it is a later service dial and not gilt. I also see red subs, where the dial may well be genuine, but the case number puts it squarely into the white sub period. Only because I have gained a ton of knowledge here am I able to see such things.

  6. Nice! Those crown guards don't look bad at all, especially if you go for a 16750 build. You could pull off a 1675 with some minor shaping, too. They are much better than a lot of the other "1675" base watches out there. Some of those other crown guards are just horrible for a 1675. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  11. I'm just amazed that some fool bought that watch for $6K. I've been keeping an eye on tonnywatches' dials for a while now. I'm kinda surprised he'd try to sell a franken for that much- wonder what will happen when the buyer figures out he got taken. The only thing old on that watch is the movement- insert is recent service insert, crown could be a 702 and worth $100, maybe $150... I guess I'm disappointed in tonnywatches.

  12. that FHF 905 looks like it would work- similar to the 2846-2 only no day feature. Hand sizes are good. The 2451 would work but finding a .21 seconds hand could be tricky- maybe you could crimp something down.

  14. The Twisted World of Watches... (A) The majority of the genuine watch forum bed wetters are: 1...Jealous. 2...Disappointed. 3...Disillusioned. Jealous because replica owners get the Wow! accolades (and the Damsel) same as any Gomer wearing the Real Deal and Disappointed because in reality their $10k 'investment' was a fool's errand, especially when it breaks and needs 'official' $ervice. They are Disillusioned because they believe 'High Achievers and Heroes all wear genuine watches.' All the others are sinners and destined to burn at the stake in Geneva. (B) 1: They do not know much about watches in general and can not tell a higher grade replica from a genuine watch. 2: They have very little or no sense of humor. 3: They tend to identify with the brand and wear 'Macho Brands' and/or certain types of watches as a badge of 'manliness'. Replicas take this all away from them because the guy wearing the replica has the same status, therefore replicas are something to be hated and/or feared along with the person wearing it. They have no problem with pirated DVDs etc though. (C) Most of the genuine watch forum members are replicas of sane, reasonable people.

  15. To echo pcardoza relax a bit and just so everybody knows NO they aren't going to switch a bezel insert for you (you guys who have been around know this, nobody told him not to bother to ask..................) , they get the entire watch from factory all done they have no stock of parts. This looks like a good one all in all FYI, keep your expectations realistic how much is this and how much is the gen....................... Send it out for the plat. mod on numbers once you get it if that's all you have wrong.

  16. Thanks, It's the second lot of QC pics I've rejected now. I've told them I'll wait patiently, not an issue, but I would like a v6s with a v6s bracelet. Let's see what they come back with. Until then.... ✌️ thanks guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. Rolex has it's own foundry, and cases, bracelet and crown - stainless steel or gold are all made at Rolex in their plant in Switzerland. Nothing in, near or touching anything in a Rolex is made in Mexico. Wherever you read that, it's garbage.

  19. "Beware of the clasp, mine broke very easily." I call them 'Breakaway' clasps. I had one break first time out and have a modern Exp I with the hinge made in this fashion and afraid to wear it. They should make the hinge mounts and blade in one piece. Iirc rwc had to eat a bunch of them along with ceramic bezel inserts for the first few years. Maybe still eating them. Not much of a way to laser weld them together because it would have to be welded outside the contact area and would leave an 'unsightly' bead. That is probably why they solder them together. As for genuine stuff...I ran out of $$ before rolex 'went modern' and stayed with vintage. I guess there is a lot to be said for sheet metal clasps and aluminum inserts.

  21. Yeah it's from Dung. Accidentally paid overprice for it. Should have gotten it from tonnywatches for 250USD incl. S&H. After some discussion it seems that they have the same vietnamese supplier. Nice. Better than paying close to 1000USD from MQ? Yeah, I was planning it, since I was told that it was the only case that had a enough meat to be close to it. I am aware of the fact that it won't be 100%. On the other hand, as soon as one will see that dial and the TC-hands, for a vintage-Rolex fan, it should be pretty obvious that it's a replica. So, considering stuff like case thickness, rubber ring under the bezel, etc, it's "good enough for me".
