The 6239 Albino is arguably one of the rarest Rolex watches that exist (I couldn't find pictures of more than 2 Gen examples). Not to be confused with the 6263 "Eric Clapton" Albino (which sports a ROC dial and a black plastic bezel), the 6239 has some magical elegance to it and I had to have one. Unfortunately all dials I have previously seen were a big no-no for me - the subdials were just too obviously flawed and disturbed the elegance and smooth sunburst pattern of the dial way too much in my opinion. This is the gen, for reference: A year or so ago, I decided to give it a shot at replicating this watch and had a dial + case custom made to my specifications. I was happy enough with the outcome, since it surpassed all other albino dials by a wide margin. The result is below. Please note that the smudge at the T SWISS T mark, which looks like damage to the dial, is actually a scratch on the crystal. The only thing I am still missing are Valjoux 72 hands with a black line through the center. They look very much like the Hands on the White-Faced Rolex 16520 (Zenith) Daytona. 16520 hands should almost fit, I may have to broach each hand by 0.1mm. This is mine:2 points

Any of the crew should be able to sort that out for you. You could pick a victim and PM them or scroll up, click on more, then support and ask there.1 point

Welcome to the forum, glad you already found it useful. We like when people take the time to read before jumping in with questions we have answered many times before, we like when people introduce themselves and we like very much members who contribute and help new members. Sounds like you will fit right in and two reputation points on ten posts is a blistering start.1 point

Oh no worries whatsoever, even my own taste on certain models, brands and also individual parts has changed significantly over time. For the majority of Daytona's I also prefer the black bezel over the steel bezel. Apart from the graceful Oyster Case itself, I actually think the black bezel is one of the prettiest individual parts of the vintage Daytonas (just not on my albino :P)1 point

I've seen a few listings on eBay. This is the first one I found on a quick search: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gold-Plating-Service-/232179470488?hash=item360ef99098:g:oM4AAOSw2GlXGgnZ Might be worth a search and a couple of enquiries.1 point

Great and welcome ! There are lots to learn and is fun sharing this hobby with people in a forum like this . But I personally wouldn't look for rep watches with complications. As most reps comes with Asian movements and the normal ones are time and dates, with A7750 with chrono. You can get some complications out of 21J but is not the most reliable. My advice is to stick with watches with no complications and then you will have more fun and choices.1 point

Welcome. There is no such thing as a perfect replica. Because of the huge difference in price between a genuine and a replica there will always be compromises. If the problem is only the lume, then just budget to have it relumed. Yes I think using a chrono twenty times a week definitely comes under the category of often. if you REALY need to use a chronograph that often, maybe buy something like a Seiko Quartz Chronograph for work days and a none chrono Planet Ocean replica for evenings and weekends1 point

Yes brother I see it, but it is how it is and it won't change. Most people are much more rude on the internet than they would ever dare to be face to face. This includes, noobs, members and mods on a lot of forums. I just figure that with a little patience maybe one or two of these guys might come to be contributing members. If they are complete jerks, they will wander off to a porn site soon enough anyway, on the other hand I was a brand new member quite recently and shown a lot of kindness by members here.1 point

Vipasanna, (I guess the only VIP we are going to get out of you are the first three letters of your member name) I was not offended that you think that either one is a rep. I just think that your comments have nothing to do with the title: obviously one of the watches is gen and the other, as good as gen. You coming out to say what you did either implied that I was lying, or that you were making disparaging comments about the watches for the sake of doing so. Obvious details on the watches were deliberately obscured to allow guessing. If clear microscopic shots were taken, there is no point to get anyone to guess. The forum is meant for sharing and gaining knowledge. This is meant to be a fun thread mainly to showcase how close the superfrankens have become, and how patience, dedication and resources could produce very rewarding results. My friends here could come on to this thread and post "the two most horrible reps I've seen in my life" and I would have laughed along with them. I know them and what they represent. I know their intentions. But you, I do not know. I'm not a bully nor am I a supercilious guy here. I know how to respect others here and that is the difference between me and someone like you. Remember this please: you are of course entitled to your opinion. I respect that. But there is always a right time and place to express it. I meet ugly people (literally or figuratively) daily and if I were to express my honest opinions to them to their faces each time, and then claim that I was only expressing my honest opinion, and then apologize, do you seriously think that it would sit well with them? Every position of favor and prestige has to be earned. You are way beyond your welcome here and I would advise you against going further down this path offending members here with ill timed comments or sarcastic remarks about greed. This has nothing to do with you thinking about watches looking rep or horrible. It has everything to do with you respecting the intentions of my thread instead of a comment that's as relevant as a camel on a chandelier. I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.1 point

Not absolutely necessary though gen hands would of course be ideal for aesthetics... The A2836 hands can be modded to be used with a gen movement.1 point

I see above answer by Alligoat too but I would love to hear more details: -what parts needs to be removed? Calendar and date and alarm function? -relative price for these mods -after these parts are removed does it effective make it a V72 and will fit perfectly into our donor cases? As far as cases go you have the following options: DW (long out of production but relatively cheap, I've seen them for $350-$450) Yuki (also out of production, roughly $1000 when it was available - anyone pls correct me if this is wrong I've only seen this number listed in a previous thread) Phong (expensive $1500 but currently the best option I've found - this is what I use) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

After removing the alarm parts you can fit them in a Daytona case. See paristos who posted pics of his 6263 with a converted v730 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Good. Just wanted to make sure you weren't taken advantage of and sold a lemon - like several other members before you! You are correct, what phong charges for a full & proper conversion is ridiculous and only economical for someone who wants to pass the converted movement of as genuine. Other movement finishers may be able to do the conversion for less though (including swiss and German watchmakers). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
