  2. Gents, I took a 9 month hiatus from browsing the forums and see TC is on a sabbatical? In his absence I was going to take the opportunity to buy something cheaper (of course, certainly not to the same standard) as I am impatient and fancy a new watch! Pretty much set on the V7 Noob but want to get it serviced first if possible. I am based in the UK, can anyone recommend a trusted individual who I can ship the watch to before it goes on my wrist? Thanks Ben

  5. the rafflestime ring will work I would think, but I'm thinking your stem position is going to be too high, so that would mean a dial spacer and maybe a taller canon pinion, etc.

  6. Well @Ben1212 do you want a 16610 or a 116610 model. If I were to go for the former and contact @SSTEEL to build a franken, I would start with a TC midcase, which Ssteel just happens to have been buying up lately. Ultimately it depends which model you prefer, how accurate you wish it to be and how much you are willing to spend. welcome to the rabbit hole?

  13. Here is a build based on a cartel 6263. The insert was removed and replaced by a Vietnam insert. The movement was CLEANLY converted to reposition the 6 o'clock hand. I could not resist finishing the top plate with a perlé... Even if no one will see that. Dial is from Viet nam WITH feet installed for the Venus 75. Revarnished to be more resistant and not get damaged on the edges, relumed and index finished with black enamel as it should. No glue here !!!! All clean and tidy inside out. I can't stand chewing gum finished watches.... Subsidiary hands are from DW as cartel hands are too large for my taste. Gen 700 crown, and cartel pushers modified to look like first generation pushers. Cherry on the cake: retailed by Hermès..... so we reach the half million !

  14. if only the cartel would bother doing it... We could have decent dials from stock instead of paying fortunes on Viet dials!!!!
